Not going to happen, which is too bad because the pontiac f-body always had the more agressive styling and the better front end which I love. But they aren't going to have competing f-bodies this time.
A much more likely scenario is the new GTO will be kind of a trans am/GTO mix but yet still be far enough different (4 doors?) that it won't compete with the Camaro too directly.,.

It'll probably have largely to do with the success of the new Camaro, and then be a year or so behind this time...I wouldn't be shocked if a clay was being made or modded for a Firebird mock up like the '69 TA, soon.
My gut says, with some minor changes, the new Camaro will be a BIG hit!.
