Finally saw a Silverado in person
It was a loaded crew cab for $43K. Black with 20" rims. This truck looks so much better in person than on small internet pictures. The bulged fenders really look good and give the truck a lot more character. The 900 Crew cab looks a lot more natural than the 800 Crews. The 800 just never looked like it was meant to be a crew cab. (I felt the same way about the S-10 vs Colorado).
The only thing I'm not sure I like is the roof rails on a crew cab truck. I like the Avalanche and most SUVs better with them, but I'm still not sure how I feel about them on the Silverado. I don't dislike them like the ones on the Nissan Frontier. I guess I'll have to wait and see if they grow on me.
Over all this thing is a great looking truck and a nice improvement over last generation as far as looks go. Even though from those first internet pics I thought it looked too much like the 99-02 Silverado in person it looks very different. A very nice progression of the Chevy full size truck styling.

Chevy Tahoe at the Chevy dealer in nearby Serremonte Ca.
Going for over $48K. About a grand less than the new Corvette parked nearby.
Not talking about an Escalade, Land Rover, or even a Denali.
I'm talking about a frigging Chevy truck.
$48K.
There was at least 1 new Cadillac sedan next door that cost less!

I sat in a mid-model Sierra, cloth seats, LT interior... Pretty impressive, considering my dad's 06 Duramax interior was the more expensive model with Bose and all of that, and it now looks like a WT interior.
Dealer also has like 3 Chevy's, but they had just got them in(moved and combined their Pontiac GMC Buick with Chevy Cadillac) and hadn't gotten around to cleaning them up. I asked salesman about the sliding bed system, but he couldn't tell me much as of yet.
I will be back around there in the next few days.

I was at a dealer monday, 52k for a tahoe.
Saw a new Silverado, looked it over for about 10 minutes but none of the sales staff would come out.
Then I looked at several trailblazers then the tahoe. I could see them looking out at me but they wouldn't come out. And people wonder why they can't sell anything.

Try Canada. That'd be a bargain.
