Are those Y2K wheels?
I guess it's just a concept SS with some personal touches really........
That SS still looks like an RX8 in thre front to me.

And I think they took that one C6 promo shot, and started there, and added SS-concept and 4th Gen Camaro touches...
Nope. It's still basically the SS concept and I still don't like it. The shape doesn't make me think Camaro.
Those VW beetle wheel wells and fenders belong on an RX8, not a Camaro. The rest of the car reminds me of something Nissan would pen.
It is better looking than the original SS concept though.
Look at the corvette going from c4 to c5 to c6 - you can still see the c4 under there. But looking at that concept I don't see anything but bland, bulbous jello mold styling.
Not trying to be a jerk, I just think that concept sucks too.
Look at the new Stang... it screams muscle car and is clearly a Mustang. And yes I like it. Who cares if it has retro overtones - it looks bloody great - not 'cos it's retro, but because the orignal fastback design way back was a great looking piece of design.
But if I saw that SS/Camro concept on the road, I wouldn't have a clue it was a Camaro.

It's really amazing what people can come up with using photoshop & computer generated touches.
But to touch on what Z28Marcus pointed out, if Mazda were to redesign the RX8 to be bigger and not have the rear doors, I think that's exactly what it would look like.

Wow.
This is getting almost universally panned here.
Keep in mind, I said starting point ... I, too, think there are some things that need adjusted, but I still think it is a decent base to start from.

It would need to get a smaller rear passenger compartment; longer doors; and lose that God awful rear wing for me to even begin considering it. It also looks too much like a second gen Camaro IMO.
Quite frankly, folks need to forget about the SS Concept and start with the Monaro/GTO and go from there... because that's the body/chassis Camaro will be sharing in the future.

I agree the rear compartment area needs to shrink, and I think that would make the doors fill the space better as well, so fixing one thing may solve a second problem.
The wing? Well, it doesn't bother me much, but you can't really get a true feel for the look from this angle. But, yes, I'd perfer a wing that look sless "tacked on" and more "intergrated"
A big concern for me is the rear seat windows... I don't know that I want them on a Camaro... I like the 'roof hoop' look of the 2nd through 4th Gen Camaros, and C3 (78-82) C4, C5, and C6 Corvettes better...

As far as the image, I think it's been panned enough, but let me put a designer's opinion on record, how about someone put something more than photoshopping different cars together. I'm working on something right now.
