If it weighs 2.5 tons, then it isn't getting to 60 mph in 5 seconds with only 340 hp.

I imagine that acceleration time is a pretend "spec" that they made up to go along with the pretend "jet engine"...

Still, it's pretty cool that it's sporting a small block.

The hot air ballon burner adds extra "bat-boost"

So, that's 5000 pounds. Maybe its got NAWS!!

They clocked it doing 105 mph during filming. And, its the honorary pace car for this coming weekend's Nascar race here in Michigan.

This batmobile is a disgrace to all previous batmobiles.

That's kinda the point-- it came before all the other batmobiles. It wouldn't work if this one was the absolute pinnacle and the rest went downhill after this one (although that's the formula Dodge seems to have been using with the Charger nameplate).

They were driving it around Toronto last week, a bunch of people saw it and it made the newspaper front page (Toronto Sun).

2.5 tons = 5500 pounds. So unless it's packing 800 HP, there is no way this thing will be any less than 9 seconds 0-60.

1 ton is 2000 pounds. So, that would make 2.5 tons 5000 pounds, not 5500.

Let's face it, this Batmobile is just reflecting the times. Instead of a sport coupe, it's an SUV.

uggg...its not this or that or nothing..and no its not a discrace of all the Batmobiles that ever where..

Ever pick up Frank Millars The Dark Knight Returns.
here is his Batmobile...
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...6&goto=newpost

and looks alot better than this POS! Its BATMAN not Richards Simmons in a Batman costume..This is a discrace to Batmobiles...
http://www.fantastic-plastic.com/BAT...ILE%20MAIN.jpg

and there are alot of Batmobiles..just take a look..
http://images.google.com/images?q=Ba...8&start=0&sa=N

Unless your a Batman fan this is going to be totally opposite on what Batman is who you have seen. Trust me, THIS IS BATMAN thats in the comic...not the TV show, not the other movies, no nipples on the costume.. not nothing... This will be the comic book origin come to life the right way..They looked at the Batman books Year One, and drew alot of the concept art from Frank Millar (yes Sin City ) his Batmobile was a tank..YEA A TANK..

This is the FIRST batmobile..the first everything to the story, were not jumping into whats already there..Were going to see how he is trained and molded into Batman..and how the fist batmobile came to be...so its not going to have the fins, its not going to look like a Batmobile..its just going to be what it is..
I am a huge batman fan...and the story here is much more than Adam West and Geroge Clooneys flashy BAT-(insert tool here) do-dads..

Yes, I'm looking forward to this one. The premise is if you had money, the latest technology, the training and education, and the determination, what could you do with it. Set in the real world, I think this one will connect. The reviews are positive about 10 to 1, and the one being people who are fans of Rock Horror camp.

This is going to be a good one, BUT as with Star Wars Ep 3, probably want to prescrene if you've got young kids. It's PG-13 for some horror-type imagery associated with one of the villians ... Scarecrow.

Re: Even the batmobile has an outdated pushrod GM V-8 engine

is it 4wd? cause the batmobile needs that kind of grip... and depending on the gearing, 5000 lbs can get up to speed quick, expecially depending on the body, areodynamics and road grip(awd)... 340 hp w/ any hybrid technology could help bolster it to that 0-60 speed

also what rpm is that hp at? at 7 or 8 grand, that is very reasonable 0-60 times

aerodynamics?

Did you actually look at the photo?

I can't believe this conversation is taking place in the 5th Gen Forum and I was the IDIOT that started it.

Honest, my intention was only to show that even the batmobile has an "outdated, antique, historic, underpowered, old school, pushrod engine"
