Just to move things along....

It just doesn't mean we could get diesels....but also that Malibu/G6/Aura would accept turbo Ecotecs and turbo HF V6's.

Good, will be nice to have world-wide interchangability.

Re: Epsilon 2 news.

Last word was that Malibu wasn't going to be the only Chevy using this chassis.

The "W" is getting pretty old.

Re: Epsilon 2 news.

I'd love a turbo Ecotec with a 6 speed in a G6 GT coupe...give it some of the character and extra power a car with a GT moniker deserves. While I love the GTP G6, the GT screams "I'm a big fat rental car, but at least I have cool shiny wheels!!"

Its sort of like the idea Pontiac got when they put the s/c 3800 in the GT GP...now all of a sudden, you have TWO cool models with the GT and the GXP...not just one.

I thought the Impy was moving to CHI. Has the low cost RWD Chevy sedan business case changed that?

Even on the LWB EPII, it seems to be to small for a nearly or fully fullsize sedan.

Impala is "volume" & the RWD sedan is "aspirational".

Unless GM plans to have the next Malibu step in and fill both the current Malibu and Impala's position, and GM markets 2 cars with the Impala name temporarily, I wouldn't put any money on the next Impala being RWD.

I think it could actually play out something like that. The next Malibu will be a larger sedan than the current one, theoretically covering a larger market segment.

Imagine...a V8, six speed manual, RWD Impala. Oh yeah, I forgot this,

It's hard for me to express just how bitchin' that would be.
