Only 2 problems with that idea.

1) You're still 45 hp behind the SS

2) AWD is a LOT different than 4WD.

On the show Trucks, they showed a custom truck made out of a 2000 year model 1500 and 2500.. He took the front cab, engine and trans, and rear end out of a 2500 the the 8.1L, and put it on a 1500 shortbed. Hugger orange and tasteful mods all around.. I think it also had the flapper hood that was vacuum operated when you hit the gas...

Pretty expensive, but neat project, but thats gotta be fun just to drive and shred the tires at will..

so is that the trick? or am I just pulling straws..what are the 0-60 #??
Silverado SS 0-60 is 6.3

Syclone had 280HP/350tq

A 295HP 5.3L 1500 would be a better choince than the 300HP 6.0L 2500 since the 2500 is so much heavier.

i don't see why everybody's bitchin bout AWD...so what if it's "200" pounds heavier, it'll still rip a 2wd out the hole and stay ahead of it, i'd love to have an AWD

I'm not 100% positive, but close enough that i'd bet money that it was a 6.0L AWD Sonoma cause i have the Car & Driver at home and i'm PRETTY sure they said he took the drivetrain out of the C3 Denali and i know that's a 6.0L...but i could be wrong, it don't happen often but it has happened a couple times

Actually it was 6.0 L LQ4 heads that were ported. C5R heads are 11* these are the standard 15*. Also the transffer case is from an Escalade, Denali, Chevy Silverado SS. I am assuming those are the same they did use one modified from an Escalade.
