Re: Dude, where's my Camaro?
So now we are comparing a loaded SS CONVERTIBLE SPECIAL EDITION CAMARO to the GTO to show how affordable the GTO is? Shoot, why not throw in one of the $40,000 Berger camaros and call the GTO the bang for the buck champ? Brilliant logic.
From your own link: "The Z28 retails for $22,495 for the coupe" That makes the GTO about 10,000 dollars MORE, base MSRP to base MSRP. But hey, what's $10,000? An Aveo?

Compare apples to apples. Compare 2 cars equiped with similar options, and then get back to me.
Comparing a Z28 with manual windows and locks, cloth seats, and base radio is going to be much cheaper then a GTO.

Re: Dude, where's my Camaro?
So the fact that GM killed the Camaro and has no problem with stringing it's enthusiast along until there are no more is okay because we the rebadged, overpriced, gas guzzling, grand am looking, no new par setting, Holden Monaro with huge rebates because few people wanted the sumbitch for reasons I that somehow escape me?
Re: Dude, where's my Camaro?
No par setting? Can you get another quality car with 350hp for under 35k? No..no you cant.
Grand Am looking? Please. For some reason all Pontiacs look the same...as does BMW, MB....hey, they just might be on to something.
There is nothing out there in the GTO's class that can offer the quality and the power for the price.
But if you want to go ahead and get yourself a Mustang....enjoy your 8 years too late pony car. Im sure you will enjoy...whatever there is to enjoy in the car.

How many of you guys, own more than one Camaro?
I own 6 cars & 3 of them are Camaros (2 3rd gens & a 4th gen). I still have two more Camaros to buy, finish School & become part of GM before I even think of owning a 5th gen .
The bytching & wining from this group seems like to me a bunch of babys that cant afford, nor have the means to buy a car thats not even in to production as of YET.
We have 1yr & 5 months before they might even think about annoucing the car bing out there & ready for production.

While I do agree that the bitching and whining has increased here recently and it has gotten quite tiring, I still find that statement pretty ignorant.

People are just getting impatient, that's all. Bitching and whining over here doesn't help much, though, since GM will update us once they are ready with some news.
I'm keeping the faith.

Perhaps we could pin a thread at the top explaining what posts should NOT be made on this site, something like:
1.a. I'm pissed, where's the Camaro.
1.b. GM ignores enthusiast base.
2. GTO looks like a Grand Am.
3. What do you want in your 5th gen.
And encourage the newer ones to simply do a search. This is getting a little tiring. I swear, if there is one more person who will post that GM ignores its enthusiasts and where's the Camaro.... I'm going to do something bad.
Re: Dude, where's my Camaro?
I'm sure it'll be back. I don't get why they had a 2004 camaro prototype back since like 1998-1999 when i figured they were gonna be stopping production soon. I would think if they came out with a new model it would be a 2003 Camaro, not 2004.
I do think GM should try to hurry up a lil but because some of the only Camaro guys are gonna go to the stangs and will start to like them, they're gonna lose some customers i'm sure, but maybe they'll come right back when the new one comes back. People do tend to buy a car just cuz its a new model whether its a rerelease or not. I'm fine with it, i got my 02 Z and i'm happy with it, if a 2007 or whatever year does come back i'm probably gonna wait a year or two for them to work out any problems with them.
And go buy a stang?..... i'll never buy a ford, if no camaro comes back hopefully the new replacement is good. If no Camaro comes back and i want a newer sports car then the vette is my pick, i take the vette over the viper for some reason, i'd rather put the extra money into modding and be loyal to chevy. If that is what ends up happening, no Camaro, i'd probably rather buy a LS1 or LS2 and swap it into a first gen. No money besides the engine cost for chevy in that scenario though. Thats my pick though. Camaro's still live on for me, a new one that lives up to its name would be nice though.
