Find a car with all of that and at least 350 hp for less than 40K.

Toss in a detuned Ls7 or a supercharger ontop of the Ls2 and it doesn't sound too much all of a sudden .

My single biggest want is this: Actual differentiation between the models. I'm talking motors, suspensions, brakes, wheels/tires, exterior and interiot bits, the whole works. I don't want to spend 40k on a loaded camaro only to have the same engine/tranny/brakes/etc... as a 26k model. Gimme something different.

How about a Z/28 with the dynamics of an M3 and a base V6 with the dynamics of a 325?

No Camaro should cost more than $35K...ever.

Me? As long as it looks good, has a great V8, and doesn't rattle, has tow doors and is RWD...I'd buy it.

I'd be happy to pay less.

Full load 4th gen's were over $50K Canadian.

Factor in the extra equipment and some inflation and we'll be pushing $60K Canadian by the time '08 or '09 rolls around. I just converted that to US dollars as a reference.

Re: Dream 5th Gen ....

simply put.. like how the C5 -> C6 is what I would want a F4 -> F5... (although the whole chassis itself would need to be redesgined from scratch)

Maybe a little less overhang, but not as drastically cut like the C6 (which the rear sometimes looks a little too cut sometimes to me)

And the suspension tested and tuned on "the Ring", or its equiv.

and factory roadracing support..

Re: Dream 5th Gen ....

v6 = 318
RS = 325
Z28 = M3
SS = M3 with all the toys

ZL1 = M3 CSL

When I see a CSL at a show I stop and drool. Its not just your average BMW. Or even your average M3. Its not fooling around. A limited edition "ZL1" would just be absurd. And look! We already have a 427 engine that would fit in the same space as a standard small block! What luck!

Edit:
427.
6spd.
HUD.
Strong rear.
T-tops.
Black with Stripes.

I'd like to see a big jump like the C4 to the C5...it will have been out of the market 5+ years.

I have no problem with an "everything checked off" convertible SS going for $39,999, but $40k should be the limit. You should be able to get any model, including a road-race type Z28, and excluding something like a ZL1, for $35k though.

a fdully loaded convertable SS wasnt over 50 thousand here (unless you include all the tax) so you guys getting ripped off. but i highly doubt you will see a 60 thousand dollar camaro.when they brgin it back i think they expect to sell them.

Re: Dream 5th Gen ....

For me...

A base V8 (not Z/28 or SS) with about 300 HP
IRS and a 6 speed manual tranny
A Trunk!
A little more interior room
A longer wheelbase (about 108" would do)
A little bit shorter than a 4th Gen in total length
Less windshield rake
A modern design with subtle heritage aspects throughout
NO ONSTAR!!!
CD player, A/C, Cruise Control...
Cloth interior

I would be happy with that for about $23,000 - $24,000.

If Chevy doesn't have a base V8, I would rather have a I5 ( ) or any I6 as the base engine instead of a v6 and a price around $21,000....
