among young people... yes, and thats what counts IMO. among the nation as a whole, obviously not being that WRC doesnt exist here

Youve hit the nail on the head. Ive watched nascar from the 60s and 70s on the speed channel, and Ill admit that is more interesting seeing actual cars (although heavily modded) that could be bought off the showroom. Not to mention the cars they used were of a higher status so to say. simply put: Superbird > ford taurus . Today's nascar fans wont find that rwd v8 monte carlo (excuse me, custom race vehicle with monte badging) at the local showrooms. Almost forgot... one of the 'die hards' at my school actually saved up and bought a WRX 3 days before he graduated. Looks like WRC races made subaru a sale

BINGO!



oh and another thing, my uncle (who used to pit crew for stock car events) said that once when they absolutely needed a rear end for their race car, they pulled the gear or whatever they needed off of his car to use for the race. lets see them do something like that these days. thats bad a$$ in my opinion.
