too bad they are putting those names on a truck instead of a road runner, or bumble bee. But none the less i think it is smart marketing to play on the old names of the 60's when the hemi was king. Its just too bad its on a truck and not anything remotely fast.

How much is a rumble bee? prob 40k and no performance mods just paint and stickers.

thats odd....cuz i personally got out of my car and looked at them up close. the dealership i was at had the orang eand green ones out front near the road and then up by the doors they had the plum purple one. they even have matching steering wheels. could it be a different package then?
I just did a quick search on eBay and found this... a plum crazy purple Hemi GTX. Here's the link. Same idea as the Rumble Bee but has a different stripe package and more available colours. Strange that there's no mention of the package on the Dodge site.

Prices are 39,580 (CDN) - 28,875 (US)

I don't think the Hemi GTX is a Dodge made package, but I could be wrong. After all Chevy Doesn't advertise the Texas Truck package.

From Rumblebee.org (yes, it even has it's own website of enthusiasts):
The Rumble Bee is a special, limited edition Dodge Ram. It includes the following features over a regular Ram:

• 345-hp 5.7L HEMI® Magnum® V8 Engine
• Laramie Door Trim with Solar Yellow Spears
• Solar Yellow Instrument Panel Bezel
• Bodyside Cladding - Body-Colour
• Accent Kit: Front, Rear, Box Side - Body-Colour
• Taillamp Guards - Body-Colour
• Chrome Exhaust Tip
• Hood Scoop - Body-Colour
• Brushed Aluminum Fuel Filler Door
• Vertical Stripe and Bee Emblem (Yellow or Black)
• Rumble BeeTM Logo on Door Interior Spear
• Unique Numbered Plaque on Dash

Production numbers:
Originally supposed to be 3700 total. However, more than 3700 were produced. The final number appears to be 6703.
Original production: 1700 black (400 4x4)
Original production: 2000 yellow (600 4x4)
Original production: 1000 shipped to Canada
http://www.rumblebee.org/

According to Motor Trend (they tend to have high times because they don't do high rpm brake torques or neutral drops on acceleration runs) the Hemi Ram does 0-60 in 6.8 with a 15.1@89mph quarter. http://motortrend.com/roadtests/pick...ux/index2.html

There is also a Dodge Ram Hemi GTX (http://www.dodgeboy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1323 picture is 3 posts down).

If that isn't enough, there is also the "Hemi Sport" Quad Cab package (nick-named the "Hemiator by some): http://www.thehemi.com/news.php?id=20040423-1

Dodge also had a modern version of the "Little Red Express Truck" at last year's SEMA, that might see production in the future.

All of these are relatively low priced (under $30,000) cosmetic packages that offer something different, head turning eye appeal, & doesn't really cost Chrysler anything to produce.

Much like that Silverado SS that Chevrolet is pushing at $40,000 a pop.

I like trucks, but I think the Rumble Bee is just.....ghey. I guess "street trucks" will continue on as one of the many niche markets out there. I just prefer the off-road look for trucks.

If you saw one and I'm not saying you didn't... but according to Chrysler's own website... and this is the info I based my post on.

There's nothing humble about that HEMI®_rumble. Especially when it's stuffed under the bulging hood of the new limited edition Dodge Ram 1500 Rumble BeeTM. Dressed in your choice of Black or Solar Yellow, this future collectible stands out from the crowd with a distinctive Rumble Bee box decal, reminiscent of the bumble bee stripes made famous on Dodge muscle car legends like Charger, Challenger and Super Bee. In addition to the 345-horsepower 5.7L HEMI®_Magnum® _V8 engine, this special Dodge Ram 1500 Regular Cab short box 4x4 group comes with a huge list of radical features listed below. Welcome to the world of 21st century V8 muscle… Dodge style.

Ram Rumble Bee

Seriously, whether or not I like the trucks, DC is f*cking ruling the automotive world right now.

They actually named the color Plum Crazy Purple. That is awesome.

Plum Crazy was originally introduced in 1970 along with all of the Dodge high impact colors - Plum Crazy (purple), Sublime (green), Go-Mango (sort of a light orange - like the color of a Mango), Top Banana (yellow), Hemi Orange (true orange), and Panther Pink (bright pink).

Dear departed Plymouth used the same colors, but with different names - In-Voilet, Lime Light, Tor-Red, Lemon Twist, Vitamin C Orange, and Moulin Rouge.
