Dodge Challenger Super Stock Concept (video)
fanbase of transformers out there? That is Uber-gay
For those acting unimpressed, if it was the same video with a 5th gen Camaro instead of the Challenger you would be saying exactly the opposite.
That car is going to be such a hit, these new horsepower wars are going to be a blast!

Great point about those acting unimpressed. Subsitute a Camaro for the Challenger, and you'd have people falling all over themselves with excitement, and we'd probally have a 30 page thread by now.
I'm also extremely happy, not just with the horsepower wars, but the general direction of cars for at least the next 3-4 years. There is just so many great things in the pipeline I'll predict that 2009-2010 will be the most golden years in automotive history.
Combine some of the best and even daring designs , not in years but decades. Horsepower numbers that just a couple of years ago seemed incredible will be available in several mainstream cars. But also, the stunning variety of cars that's going to be on the market both in styling and in models. We'll have everything from Hybrids to 500 horse sedans & probally the largest selection of 2 passenger cars in history. Fuel economy will be higher than ever.
Everything is being limited not by the meddling of bottom line obsessed executives or board members. But by the survival of each carmaker. If Ford survives the next 2 years, even they have some really great stuff on the board.
I'm pretty giddy about the things in the pipeline from not just GM, but also Ford and Chrysler (though I'm starting to fear Chrysler's styling department and the people who choose interior materials have lost thier touch since the LX cars).
The muscle car era was eclipsed as far as horsepower & performance numbers years ago. There's been occasional spurts of great car design since the heydays of the 30s and 50s. Fuel economy hasn't changed much outside of the V8s since the late 80s, early 90s. But within a few years all that's going to come together.
Be ready to enjoy it while it lasts.
