DOD/Active Fuel Management
The reason they don't put it on the Corvette is the same reason Chrysler doesn't put DOD on the 6.1L HEMI. When you buy a car like that, gas mileage is usually one of the last things you think of.
FWIW, I think GM would be better off spending the money on shedding weight on cars than using AFM. I know it probably doesn't take much from a research stand point, but I think the time spend could be better used to further weight loss on other vehicles.

Of course, the real reason not to do DoD on the Vette is that the CAFE benefit wouldn't be worth the cost. The Vette doesn't drag down the corporate averages too much, and the volumes aren't significant.
I couldn't hear DoD engage on the Tahoe I tested a year ago, but when I recently tested a Silverado with the 5.3, it was pretty obvious (especially when running around with the Tow/Haul mode, which upshifted about 500 RPM higher at light throttle). The difference was the ever-so-slightly more aggressive exhaust tuning on the pickup. I imagine the situation would be worse on the Vette.

For those who don't know.... this is what it sounds like....
