I'm 19 and I love the Lucerne...I'd totally buy one if I wasn't saving for my Camaro. I can't wait for the RWD Buick.

I see a bit of VW in the trunk styling and the car is certainly large... but I still don't see Phaeton other than that.

31 years old here and I think the Lucerne is a nice looking car.

26 year old friend of mine likes it a lot also.

It looks classy enough. I'm not exactly up in my 30s yet so I woudln't drive it, but I think an inch drop and nice rims would look really good on that, not that it looks bad as it is though.

The car does have presence . Everytime I see one pass by me on the road , it is a standout . It looks upscale and is just a sharp looking car . Black and the metallic red look REALLY good on the CXS

....on the other hand , the Impala looks really good too in SS trim . If the SS got the GXP suspension , brakes ect. I would hands down say the SS . But the SS got the softer suspension , so I would have to bet theres probably not alot of discernable differences in the driving dynamics between the SS and CSX . So given that , between the 2 .....I'd much rather sit in the WAY more upscale Lucerne interior everyday than the SS ....which is nice too , just not in the same league as the Buick . Just add a pair of Borlas to the Lucernce and that Northstar will sound every bit as good as the SS too .

Do you have to be in your 80's to drive this Buick??
Nah...they've always had some sporty cars for all ages...Skylarks, Reatta's, Riv's, Regals..etc.
If I didn't have 3 kids, I would've probably bought one. But the wife got the Rendezvous instead, and I'm waiting for a certain other car!

But, I bought a Park Ave Ultra, last time around, when I was really leaning more towards A GTP or Bonne SSEi.. I really wasn't that impressed with the styling at first, but a good test drive revealled more vehicle for the money...and pdq too. After 5 years of ownership, I have to say it was a good choice. Would've loved a V8 in this car!

This is exactly what Buick has been trying to do, get younger buyer in with more appealing cars..I would go for it..It is a very nice car...and looks great especially since its new, not many on the road and alot better looking than those other counterparts..

I have to admit. I am somewhat shocked at the positive response to Buick. .. both here and offline as well form the folks I've shown pictures of the car to, etc.

I'm still going to keep my options open with the SS, but we'll see what happens.

THe Lucerne is one of the GM cars that came out that made me go "thank God"!! The Lucerne car is really nice. SOmethng about it make me really look at the car when seeing one in traffic. The interior is better than theCTS in my opinion, and I also like the exterior styling more. I am not into racing around corners, and I thought the Lucerne drove much better than the CTS overall. Like mentioned earlier, black with chrome 18's=pimp.

I gotta admit, I'm also a bit taken aback by all the positive responses as well!!

The Lecrosse doesn't impress me at all, to me it looks simply like what the Taurus would look like if Ford had done a redesign instead of letting the thing whiter away. It's a nice design, but it's easily ignored, has 0 presence, and is very forgetable. The base Lecerne is to a lesser degree the same way.

But the Lucerne (CXS?) with the V8, the 8 portholes, the chrome trim, and as mentioned, in a dark color (midnight blue or black ) suddenly becomes a nearly 300C league attention getter. I can't name any Cadillacs or Lincolns that come close.

If it had RWD and didn't have the Buick name, I suspect it wouldn't surprise me at all about the positive response.

Spotted a bright red one at work today, first time I'd noticed it, sitting waaaayyy out in the parking lot...First one at work I believe, V8/8 porthole, CXS...really looked good in the bright sunshine, large multi-spoke chrome wheels, looked fast/sitting still...had a lot of passer-by's/lunch walkers, checkin it out, think they were confused as to who made it ...looked very new.
The driver was about late 30'ish, male, floor supervisor I believe.
