It doesn't matter if the pattent ran out. If he can bring the Mustang to its knees until a court battle is over, Ford will have no choice but to settle. Ford has a commercial dedicated to this technology. It all depends how greedy the guy wants to be. If I were GM, I might wanna think about paying the guy not to settle and drag it out as long as possible.
