Well, that would be impressive, and compelling, but highly unlikely. It also wouldn't fix the fact that the styling doesn't work (for me).
What if it were a component of an all-new global small car strategy that also included a small sedan, a coupe, and something like the Hornet?
Well, more power to 'em.
What if it were made in China?
Then forget about it. Even if the car were good looking.

1. Grille too big, too 'trucky'
2. Goofy wheel house opening arches
3. Teeny-tiny tail lights
4. Weird mismatch in front and rear fender lines

Styling is key in this niche. And the Demon doesn't have it.
I couldn't disagree with you more.

1. The grill is what it is. Dodge has decided to go with the crosshairs styling on all their vehicles so while "dodgey" it fits their scheme. There's no question this car is a Dodge when you see it coming towards you. It looks no more rediculous than Viper, Charger and Magnum.

2. Goofy wheel openings? How? It looks agressive and euro. Fully round arches would tame down the profile imho.

3. Tiny tail lights? It's a concept. All tail lights look rather small on most concepts. Besides, there was time when small tail lights were in... to help you hide from the cops. In fact I prefer small tail lights to larger "boy racer" looking altezza/carbonfiber cheap-looking POS tail lights.

4. Mismatch fenderlines? Exaggerated? Perhaps, however similar in concept to the fenderlines on a Z06. (Yes, I'm serious, I noticed this on Saturday when I was looking at a Z06 in the showroom.)

I think most of the negetivity posted by everyone here is because its a Dodge. As a comparison the Solstice is just too bland imho, and an ugly stepsister to the sexier looking Saturn Sky.

I know you just put that out there as a hypothetical, but, the demon program is not the Chery car. Just in case there is any confusion...

I'm not the biggest Dodge/Mopar fan, but if you look at the car objectively it seems pretty nice. I like the proportions--as others said, like the S2000. The powertrains could be interesting. It'll be intriguing if they produce it and price it right.

I think it looks dated. It looks like a Dodge concept from the early 90's. The Solstice has flowing lines that blend well. This thing looks like two totally different cars have been chopped together.

Ok then Chris, where are they going to build all these new little cars? Demon is just one little part of a big new program. Also, take a real good look at those wheels.

Are we looking at the same car?

I mean, maybe it's just me, but it looks like another one of those Franken-cars. Like 18 different people had a hand in the design but not one of them was allowed to look at what the other 17 were doing. Like the car was divided up into 18 sections of 9 inches a piece and each designer came up with his/her own thing.

In other words, it's a hodge-podge of design themes that don't flow whatsoever. But that's JMO of course.

Talk about a minority. The solstice is arguably the most atractive car to come out of Detroit in the last 20+ years.

I suppose the crossfire is attractive also.

I per say do not like Merc the slightest bit. Never have. The Merc roadster is a beautiful piece of work.

There may be some GM bias in peoples opinions on the look of the Demon but Solstice and ugly do not belong in the same sentence or paragraph for that matter.

I'm a Mopar guy and I totally agree with this. (But as a Mopar guy I'm obliged to say it's the SECOND-most-attractive car to come out of Detroit in the last 20 years, after the '96 Viper GTS, but that's a discussion for another day.)

Don't have the answer to that yet, but it won't be from Chery. Yes, Demon is part of an all new, very flexible, platform.

Agreed. Viper GTS is a remarkable piece of styling.

That thing is hideous. Anyone who even considers thinking otherwise needs a catscan...

As for the Solstice, from a pure design standpoint I like it better then the sky. The curves on the solstice are just classic very fluid and sexy. Admittedly that and a couple other things make it a bit feminine which is where Im sure some of the hatred comes from in a group like this.

The Sky is also attractive, obviously more aggressive, but the rear looks a bit squished and the whole thing kind of has a whole notebook sketch going on, a bit overdone.

I didn't say the Solstice was ugly... I said it was ugly when compared to the Sky. See the difference?

I see the difference. When it comes to Sky and Solstice it's all subjective.
