I love the end to that article

Good find.

I'm gonna bet that their "400hp" is under-rated just like the "350hp" is under-rated on the GTO.

The CTS-V is a car Caddy should have built a long time ago. Its the kind of car GM needed to build to get some respect from the German makes. This is a little sports sedan meets American brute performance. I hope this is a sign of future Caddy's to come they are now officially back on track!

I don't think the Ls-1 in the Z06 us underrated, so i don't see this being underrated (if anything it'll be 5-10hp). We'll have to wait and see.

Check out last month's dyno test of a 2003 Z06 in GMHTP before they installed the cam. I can't remember the rwhp numbers but they were saying about 430hp at the crank. It was 450-460hp at the crank after the cam.

Those are some good numbers. The one i've seen was in the 35X's. Could have been the early 385hp version though. Can't say for sure. I guess there are variations too with some dyno'ing higher and others closer to the advertised figures.

I like the look of the V-series. I still think that the regular CTS is a bit on the ugly side, but the V-series Aero-modifications (especially the front air dam/bumper cover) make it look 10 times better. I can't wait till this thing is really tested. It looks like it's worth every single penny of the $50k sticker price.

No your correct most 2002-03 Z06's will lay down 345-355 rwhp stock, depending on conditions. The LS6 isn't really underrated. Atleast not like the LS1 was in the Z28.

That sounds kinda low. Reason Iam saying that is because a friend of mine has an 2002 SS and it dynoed in the high 320's.

Let's just hope the CTS-V gets out of the box cleanly-no recalls, no teething problems. Since it is built from mostly proven hardware, this shouldn't be too difficult.
