I'm interested to see how this thing feels in a CTS. Since the shifter is directly mounted to the trans, it's difficult to filter out vibration, noise, and heat without turning the shifter into mush. I'm also sure that we'll hear plenty of complaint from magazine pukes who don't understand that you can't harness 400 ft-lb of torque without some serious parts, and that those serious parts will require a bit more effort to move around than your average econobox tranny.
Sounds like they need to come up with a paddle shifter and auto-clutch setup for it.

And now quoting the MotorTrend article (pg. 6, Sept 03)...
"...The final fly is the rubbery shifter and transmission gate. And attempt to better isolate the remote-mounted stick resulted in a mushy feel and long throws. Since the manual is the only transmission available and a major point of driver interactiaon, it should be a pentagon; instead, it's a letdown."
Sounds like an aftermarket shifter should be mandatory for anybody that wants to drive one of these aggressively

One more thing, I'm wondering how well this thing is going to hook. It's only got skinny 245/45WR18s (26.68" diameter) to handle 390ft-lbs x 2.97 first gear x 3.73 gears

It's gonna be one hell of a Hot Rod Caddy

FoMoCo's already got one, for the Aston Martin Vanquish. I've seen the guts of the system, and it'd be a rather simple retrofit to most any T56.

Did you see the unit they are developing for the New Mustang or the Aston?
