CTS........mine.
Re: CTS........mine.
Congratulations Charlie.. I figured you would probably get the Charger when all was said and done (Auto and all)... but good luck and hope you enjoy the car.
(I would like to see some pics of the wheels.. for some reason I've never seen wheels that I liked on the CTS' here in Houston.. except the CTSv of course)

Okay, okay, I'll get some pics up soon. But the wheels are the same as the optional 9 spoke, 18" wheels on the STS.
Re: CTS........mine.
Well I can tell you guys one thing I saw and drove Charlies car last night and it's an awsome car. It looks tough with the 18's on it and it drives awsome. Charlie I think you would have gotten tired of the Charger after two weeks.
Re: CTS........mine.
Okay, I tried downloading some pics but failed. I'll try again later.
But after having it for a week, let me share some observations on my Y43 CTS....
When you're just putzing around town, the Y43, (18" wheel performance package), tuned suspension seems relatively firm, yet smooth and compliant. In fact, the ride's comparitive cushiness, almost (almost), might give you the perception that if you really tried to rock and roll in the twisties.....you'd be disappointed. That assumption would be WRONG. For a sedan it's size, the speed that it can carry through corners is literally shocking! Shocking I say! The brakes, (the package also adds more agressive pads -mucho brake dust though), work great too. The structure is rock solid as well, it feels alot like a 5 series, if you ask me. The Y43 even adds more stiffening, in the form of a front shock tower brace.
I can't say that I like every little thing about my CTS...but as far as the chassis goes....Sigma rocks!
I can just imagine if GM had gone forward with a Sigma Camaro. My CTS with - less weight, smaller size, lower ride height, more rubber, stiffer suspension - OMG!!!
The Aisin 6 speed and 3.6 are pretty sweet too.

In low speed corners you can crank the wheel as hard as you want and it absolutely refuses to plow or understeer like a Camaro does. I really do think it's the most entertaining GM car to drive fast.
It's really a shame that GM decided to let Caddy hoard Sigma for all these years. I'd say that 95% of all CTS owners, could not be anymore clueless, as to the capability of the chassis under them. Too bad Sigma wasn't disseminated throughout the GM line up, where more enthusiasts could have gotten their hands on them.

Quote:
"Better still is this big bruiser's balence. When you wind in toward an apex, the nose & tail bite as one. Neither end twitches or threatens. Experts will find that on those rare occasions when they can push to the absolute limit of adhesion-say, on a deserted entrence ramp-the (car) is remarkably neutral. When the grip is all used up, the tail steps out ever so gingerly as if to say "That's all- time to ease up, Mario".
This brings up the big paradox in the (car's) character. It's better at going haywire fast than it is at going slow.

Seems the CTS revisits old ground.

At least NOW you guys understand my (perhaps) un-natural infactuation with my Thunderbird SCs.

Yes, a CTS can be abit pricey....but if you find a dealer who wants to deal, it won't be so bad. I got mine for slightly under invoice, plus I had over $3,200 in GM points.....plus, the day before I picked it up, I found out that GM was offering $2,000 in dealer cash on the CTS. I emailed my salesperson (who BTW, was awesome to work with), and told him I wanted that $2K. No problem.
Right now, if you shopped around, you could probably get a base 2.8/M6 for mid to high 20's - out the door.
