I'll have a Camaro or Solstice in a few years. I plan on buying my first "new" car in 2006 or 2007 and I imagine it will be really hard to buy a Vette on a salary right out of college. I'd rather have the new Camaro, but the Solstice might be priced more for me. I might have to buy a 2006 Solstice, wait for about a 2009 Camaro and get a Vette down the road. I'd rather have the V8 and a back seat, but a revy little turbo/blown 4 cylinder w/ RWD would be fun too.

Vette looks awesome, but there is just no chance for me to get one anytime soon.

I like it ... especially the rear, being an ex-C4 owner.

Do you reckon it was driven uncovered in response to the boat pics? or, were the boat pics part of the plan

Is that the 50th anniversary red on that car?

The rear is pure '68-73 C3 - or maybe '84-90 C4. There is way more C3 in the sideprofile, but the windshield/firewall area looks like a C5 carry over.

And that front end looks hideous, at least from what I see. I suspect that the profit motivation killed the trademark concealed headlights. I would like to personally thank GM for killing a styling feature that has been around since 1963!

I always wanted the Vette to look more like a Mitsubishi Eclipse.

I think it looks great, A nice evolution of the C5 with past Vette styling and a 400HP+ V8 under the hood I can't wait to see the head lights. I think now I'm going to go to the NAIAS just to see this car, it is a 9hr. drive, but it will be worth it.

I thought I wasn't going to like the rear end after seeing the pics last week, but this has changed my mind. I'll still have to wait for a nice front end shot to form a complete opinion, but so far I absolutely love it!

Couple of things to notice.

The wheels, what size are those? They look like 18's up front and 19" in the rear. Could be 17" and 18" like the C5 but the brakes are either smaller or the wheels bigger.

Brakes, nice slotted rotors. Nice touch wonder if it will be production?

Emblem, looks like the corssed flags have replaced the CORVETTE script on the back valence between the tail lights. I liked the script better with the crossed flag emblem on the hatch lid.

Looks like several changes in style were done just to be different than the C5. Not always the best motivator.

Have to see how it looks in person.... however 405hp makes the car look a little better!

i like it so far, looks like it sits lower (just looks like it from the profyle although it's probably close to he same) and the profyle shot is nice. deciding factor is the headlights though
o, and the rear doesnt look too bad either

question: someone on the vette forum said that the c5 had to go on a diet, but yet they made the rear glass extend almost all the way towards the bumper making it weigh more
now i kno the transition from f3-f4 they made the hatch glass shorter and less area to make it lighter. wouldnt making the glass longer defeat the purpose of making it lighter? unless they made some definite weight savings somewhere else (exposed headlights, etc.)
just a thought

Looks great.

For those wanting a c6, save your money and go with a 02/03 C5 z06. Should have the same Hp as the base c6, handling should be just as good if not better than the regular c6, and it should be A LOT cheaper.

02/03 Z06 is on my wish list. Just waiting for them to come down in price.

Two tips for the exhaust? Hmm... I like what I see though, especially how the lines for the vent on the side extend past the vent towards the front wheel. Should be no mistaking it for a C5.

The side is very nice. The nose looks chopped and the back looks like a c4. If this is all they could do for the Corvette I fear what the 5th gen Camaro will look like.
