Could the price go up that much?

If a GTR which is factory certified for North America ends up costing $100K.......I'll eat it!

Ghosn says the GT-R will offer “top performance worldwide, not just compared to our cars.
“If you look at a car and think it’s a tiger, you’re not going to be happy if you get in and drive it and it’s a cat,” Ghosn explains.
Ghosn says the price will be relatively reasonable: “You won’t have the feeling you’re being ripped off.”
THe old GT-R gave you WS6 performance at a Viper price.
If the new one has "top performance worldwide" and will be priced "relatively reasonable" I would expect current Z06 or better performance at an above Viper price, meaning close to $100,000. Just look at the Viper, at $83K it is "relatively reasonable", nothing for that money can touch it. Same for the Ford GT, compared to equally performing Italian cars the Ford GT is priced "relatively reasonable" at $147,000

Well the thing about the GT-R is not what it'll do when you drive it off the show room floor. It's what it'll do when you crank the boost up. These cars are known for 650 HP on Stock bottomend. The same reason the Supra cost so much.
No I have no idea what they paln on doing with the new GT-R's, but the old ones had triple disk clutches with 6 speed tranys, crazy suspension. They even came with a laptop port and software for you to change things in the ECU as soon as you got off the lot with it. You know fuel maps and such. That's with AWD to boot.
I thought I read some where that it may come V8 instead of I6 TT. I thought that was crazy, but that was before I heard about the Nissan Armada that comes with a dual overhead cam 5.4 ltr.
