Cobra MULE
Re: Cobra MULE
Because it's good seeing a musclecar take on/beat other makes and brands.
I saw an 05 actually on the road the other day for the first time. I thought a few things while looking at it and then following it. It is odd and very plain looking, almost blends right in with everything. It also didn't look quite as retro a you'd expect. It was a V6 car (without those wierd lights in it's grill obviously) but it had all the options a V6 car could have. He also must have changed the exhaust already because I've heard that the V6 cars have almost no sound what-so-ever and you could hear this guy being 2 cars behind or more. And wow, if you thought the M*stang V8's were hollow and annoyingly high pitched, you shoulda heard this thing.

The lounge?!
While it is opinion, as a person that frequents shows and cruises and talks with the owners of all makes and hears they're cars obviously, I will definetly differ. The true Chevy sound has the best reputation for the serious muscular sound. Stock or modified, especially with dual exhaust.

Re: Cobra MULE
i guess i'm in the minority too. i don't really like the way mustangs sound. as was said before, it sounds hollow, but i don't think high pitched. i can usually tell a stock mustang and i modded mustang by the exhaust note.

Re: Cobra MULE
well, since this thread went in a waaaay different direction already...
i go with the chevy sound
but then again, i'd take any v8 sound over a 4 banger any day of the week and twice on sunday

94-95 Cobra. Visual differences:
- Slightly different Spoiler
- Different Rims
- Says Cobra instead of Mustang GT on rear bumper cover, and has Cobra badges (but of course the badging will be different)
- Different front bumper cover
95 Cobra R:
- Same as above, except different rims than the regular Cobra, and a different hood (but not like the 96-98 Hood)
96-97 Cobra:
Same as above, except now has the same spoiler as the GT, but a different hood
98 Cobra:
Same as 96-97 but w/ different wheels
99/01 Cobra (there was no standard 00 Cobra, and no 02 Cobra):
- Cobra badging, but this time the rear bumper cover badging is the same as the V6/GT.
- Different Rims
- Different Hood
- SLIGHTLY different front bumper cover
00 Cobra R: That one looks significantly different, but then again, it was a WAAAYYY overpriced, limited production car.
03/04 Cobra: That's a win there, as it shows the biggest variance over a GT (except for the 00 Cobra R):
- Cobra badging, including the return of saying Cobra on the bumper cover vs Mustang on the V6/GT
- Significantly different spoiler
- Significantly different front bumper cover
- Different rims
- Different hood
I'm doubting the 07 Cobra will vary much from this mold, and I'm going to bet will differ much like 99/01 Cobras did.
Re: Cobra MULE
03-04 cobra= new side skirts, new rear bumper cover, new front bumper cover, new hood, new rear spoiler, new rims.Im sure the next cobra won't have a GT body with a box hood scoop bolted on to the hood-that was my point.

You are correct, as I said there is a an article about it in the new car and driver. If its anything like their rendering it will not just carry the Shelby name but styling as well.

On the other hand, the car that has the best of the LT1 sound & the Mustang sound is the GTO.

BTW: getting back to the thread, the car is simply a mule. It's supposed to look like any other Mustang.

As far as sound goes, sorry fellas, ive owned both a 95 lt1, and now my current 94 GT, and nothing, and i mean nothing, beats the sound of my 5 liter. 4.6 cars are just a tick behind in sound. Personally i hated the way my Z28 sounded, probably the only thing i dont miss about that car.
