Chevy's website needs some fixin'...
I'm trying to "Build Your Own" on the Chevy website and the darned thing keeps hanging up when I try to select the Diesel/Allison package for a K3500.
This is frustrating. Somebody needs to get this fixed. It's about as counter-intuitive as it can be and the fact that the darned thing takes forever to update after each option selected is driving me nuts.
So... what do I do? I go over the GMC website to see if that works any better since the trucks are identical (beyond badging) anyway.
Nah, that one sucks too.
Corvettes are easy to spec since they only have about 6 options anyway. On a full-size pickup you might as well just go on down to the stealership... except they don't have any brochures for the 2005 Silverado, Suburban, Trailblazer, Tahoe or Avalanche yet... so I'd have to actually sit down for an hour or so and spec a truck I'm not sure I'm gonna buy for a while anyway.
1) Fix the #$^#% website.
2) Get the brochures out for the 2005's. There really isn't enough of a difference to make me buy a 2005 over a 2004 on any of those vehicles, and the added incentives will easily sway me to a 2004 if I can find the right truck. I'd still like to know what is actually available for 2005 though... and having the brochures makes me happy.
Oh yeah... how come no green Avalanches this year? How come I can't get a 2500 series Avalanche without the body cladding? Since I own an Aztek, I've hit my body cladding quota for the decade and would like to move on now...
Howza 'bout an Avalanche with the the 6.0 liter? Much like the three bears, the 5.3 is too small, the 8.1 is too big (and just doesn't have enough snot to justify the added expense, weight and worse fuel economy, btw...), but the 6.0 would be "just right."
My helpful suggestion would be that the 8.1 liter needs some more juice over the 6.0 liter. Somebody start craking the whip over at Powertrain.

Re: Chevy's website needs some fixin'...
At least it's not just GM Canada "build you own" that's slower than molasses in January in Nunavat.
Also, the GM website doesn't like Apple Safari as a browser. I won't go there though, last time I e-mailed them about how Mac incompatible their website was I got a reply that said, paraphrased, "there are not enough Mac users to justify making it work"
And talking about powertrain, why no Suburban or Tahoe with the Duramax?

6.0 TD w/o body cladding would have been real nice.
Like possum, i've always wondered why the 6.0 wasn't optional on the burbans and tahaoes. Atleast make it optional on the suburbans.
