Chevy SS Concept

Any news on if the SS Concept (this) got the go ahead for production?

If they make it I'd be first in line with checkbook in hand!

there's pretty much no chance the SS is going into production "as is". but some design cues might show up in future Chevrolets

Hope not, i think it's freakish. I like the profile, but it looks too stretched.

It's an exaggerated design of an upcoming Chevrolet sedan (probably the next Impala). The year before, the Buick LaCrosse concept previewed an upcoming Buick sedan.

Both designs are based on the same structure, though again, the Chevy SS is an exaggerated version (in size as well as body themes).

I always thought the LaCrosse was a real sharp car.
I guess you could say that the SS concept has some loose connections to the C6: the tail lights, and the bold fenders. I think, like it has been said before, the SS concept has a lot of future Chevy design cues to it that will be common with the whole line of cars.

Yeah, it was a styling exercise. Thankfully.

Different demographics.

There's less reason to build a Camaro because of Corvette than there is little reason to build a Camaro because of a large sedan or coupe.

Disregard if you were just kidding about the whole post, but I just wanted to re-emphasize that unless Cobalt comes in RWD and a V8, there is nothing that's going to (or could) come out that will lessen the chance of a new Camaro.

Yes, that includes a future LS2 RWD Monte Carlo (before you ask, the next MC is FWD with the 5.3 as top engine).

It has too much of a "Retro-Concept" car look for me, it needs some more defining lines, and personality...for me...

it might just be me, but don't those rims look way too busy on the Buick and way too plain on the Chevy??? why can't GM design some nice looking rims. i don't remember liking any of the recent efforts except maybe one or two.
