Where was the intelligence in this post?

I know that Jason is hellbent on GM and domestic products, but this post is a pretty pisspoor counterarguement.

Because people argue that you should buy a GM car to support the economy, which is like an excuse for GM not to build quality cars any more.

No where in Jason E's post did he even use the word reliable... at all.

So the answer to your question is... no. Nice try, though.

I was making an example of car companies. I did not call BMW reliable. I know they're not reliable. I believe I said "whomever" in that sentence as well. Was I saying "whomevers" are reliable as well?

Dude, did someone pee in your Cheerios when you woke up this morning? I never realized I had such an impact

DWray,
Thanks

JasonD and RussStang,
Wish I had seen what he originally posted. Oh well...I will admit I'm hellbent on GM and domestic products. They are not always the best. I'm not stupid. But I do know that domestics have come a long, long way. Domestics also happen to make cars I really, really LIKE. Like muscle cars. Large 2 door coupes. I'm not just trumpeting GM for the hell of it. I really believe in many of their products. I've owned 7, and all have been decent cars for what they were.

And yes, I will make statements about buying American. I wish more people thought about what they're buying. If I had a dollar for "Well, we're also looking at a Camry. Its built in America. Its American, too," I could retire. I wouldn't need to work 2 jobs. I have watched thousands and thousands of jobs leave New England in just the time I've been alive. I was an Econ major in college, and I can pretty much assure you that a service economy cannot, and will not, survive. We will be eaten alive by China if things don't change. I'm not a doomsdayer...just a realist.

And jimbo, I don't know what you said, but I don't really care that much either. If it was nasty enough that Jason removed it, I'm sure it must have been quite impressive. I've never told anyone to go buy an inferior GM car. That's the point...they aren't necessarily inferior anymore. People like you perpetuate the theory the cars are inferior. Enjoy your XRS. More power to you. But if you spout lies and bias, as I typically see you doing, I will knock you around every single time.

Good for you Jason. My biggest question for Jimbo is, "If you don't like GM products, and you don't like American Car Companies, why the hell are you on a GM product enthusiast board?" You don't like GM? Fine, go to a Toyota board. No harm, no foul. But when you come onto a GM enthusiast board and start trouncing cars that people have a passion for, of course you are going to get flamed. Since Toyota is going to be making cars up there in the great white north, you can even feel patriotic about it!

Not a question of agreeing or not. For the same reason I don't go onto a Toyota website and espouse the cause of GM or American manufacturers, I question why people come onto a GM ENTHUSIAST website and wanna slam GM and talk up the import du jour. This isn't a general car oriented website. Again, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that does not make them exempt from question.

Hypocrites.
It's funny how that works, isn't it! I was thinking the same thing.

Its ok to have alternate opinions and debate like normal adults but personal attacks and trolling are uncalled for.

Mullets? Dude, it died in the '80's along with the stereotype. Just.....let.....it.....go......

Yea, no kidding. This was the reason I sold my 3rd gen. Now I'm seeing 4th Gen's starting to get this stigma... BLAHALBAHLBHALBHLASDJFKASL

Nothing I hate to see more then a potentially nice thirdgen with 14" wheels, 30" wide radials, and a 6ft long mullet blowing out the T-Top. It didn't die, just look around/.!

And of coarse Chevy's the most dependable. I wouldn't expect anything but.

My hair is short, I wear suits to work, and while I value alternate opinions, spewing lies and/or crap is not kosher here, or anywhere else. I think that's what he was getting at.

Also, consistently bashing a company's products on a site dedicated to that company's products is not an "alternative opinion," last time I checked. IMO, its called stupidity and a complete waste of time, but what do I know...
