Chevy concepts From GM site
Re: Chevy concepts From GM site
So this is probably why we didn't get a Cruze hatch. Even though I like the red one better with RWD, I think the silver one has a better chance with its exterior design - the look of an exotic sports car at an affordable price. No one else is doing that so its nice to see GM on the forefront.

Drop the next gen small block in there good to go.
I dont get why Jopolink called it ugly and the bad responses on their site
EDIT: I missed this part

FWD
40 MPG with a 1.4L Turbo Ecotec engine with approximately 150 horsepower

Absolutely smashing. Genius. The folks at GM dug into their bag of tricks and they've got polarizing concepts and an outbreak of people discussing the origins of, and posting pics of their old performance cars. They've hired a team of thinkers and it's starting to show.
The 130 is great. I can't get over it. It's like one of the older Malibu coupes...no, wait, it's like a BMW 1-series. Except that it's got a B-pillar that hints at 'Nomad' and a front that says "I'm new and exciting--and crashworthy. I will be on the road soon, in some form..."
And the Tru...wow. GM needs a Scion killer. Or an actual tuner car. Something that doesn't scream "groceries!" like a Scion TC does. Or maybe even something to brush up against a TT. Honda and Acura have both screwed the pooch in terms of attractive sporty coupes, leaving the door wide open for GM to jump in.

The cross flags are a reference to a 'passion portfolio' sub brand that Chevrolet wants to build..
So, lets do the math:
Enthusiasts like me have been bitching non-stop that GM has nothing to replace Pontiac and (I even) suggested they build a performance sub brand.
Today we get what appears to be a Pontiac concepts (the 140) and an Alpha concept (Pontiac was to be the lead division on Alpha)
Looks like GM is finally wising up and *attempting* to bring us some performance cars... Its just sad that the styling looks 3 years old and is, for the most part, absolutely terrible. (That 130 is hideous)
I'd almost bite on this (despite my loyalty to Pontiac) if they looked good.

Neither really do thing for me. You want young buyers in a HOT GM compact? Get the Astra GTC and OPC/vxR here yesturday. Better yet, since delta 2 is global, built it here too. DON'T CHANGE A THING about the design except replacing the lightning bolt with a bowtie. And dont pull any watering down crap, like what was pulled with the Saturn version.

While that does look good, I would just rather see the 3-door GTC and OPC over here as a Chevy with Opels styling intact. Buick=that waterfall grill and redesigned lower grill and fog light area. I guess thats being nit picky, but...it isnt gonna happen, so I guess I can be lol.
Re: Chevy concepts From GM site
Not to take away from the exterior styling of course. Its just the difference between it being something actually like an actual affordable American Lambo you could shoehorn a Small block in if it isnt in the line up vs a mitsu Eclipse type car which some previous versions looked good new but the driveline doomed the car from becoming anything serious.
