I want to see the turbo'ed I5 in there and call it a Colorado SS. It'd be a good complement to go with the Silverado SS.

Getting back to ZQ8 for a minute. I think the ZQ8 package has been one of the coolest/least talked about packages on the S10/Sonoma.

I'm glad to see it on the Colorado. It transforms an ugly duckling (IMO), into a cool, sporty truck.

I wonder how it will perform with a 220hp I5 and beefed up suspension?

Dakota Reg Cab Specs (from Edmunds.com):
Exterior
Length: 196 in. Width: 71.6 in.
Height: 66 in. Weight: 3641 lbs.
Wheel Base: 112 in. Ground Clearance: 9.4 in.
Interior
Front Head Room: 40 in. Front Hip Room: 54.9 in.
Front Shoulder Room: 57.2 in. Front Leg Room: 41.9 in.
Maximum Cargo Capacity: 3 cu. ft. Maximum Seating: 3

Short bed length is about 78 inches (6-1/2 ft)

You can also get a 4.7 235 hp V-8 with 5-speed manual trans or 5-speed auto. To go to the 5.9 V-8 you have to either buy the Quad cab (5-ft bed) or R/T (no manual tranny).

Sorry, but if Dodge drops in the 345 hp 5.7 Hemi and adds some rear doors to the Club Cab Dakota.......

The 220HP I5 should be enough power for most people, but if they really want to compete with Dodge then this truck will need the 270HP 4.8L V8

Sorry I don't know much about truck packages...is the ZQ8 package the "Xtreme"?

The Xtreme was the cosmetic package, the ZQ8 was the nuts and bolts. I actually like the ZQ8 WITHOUT the Xtreme package.

Even better,IMO, is the Sonoma with ZQ8. It looks better..... and the GMC ZQ8 wheels are far cooler than Chevy's.

My Sonoma was equipped with ZQ8. I LOVED that truck, and it only had the 4 cyl. It was so much fun to drive, got great mileage, and looked really cool. The truck never lete me down or ever stranded me. It never had any major problems except a blown head gasket this past December. The 4 had only 120 hp. I can't imagine what 220 will feel like in the Colorado. It should be pretty sweet.

Unfortuneately, my beloved Sonoma was wiped out last month by a Chevy Avalanche. The guy crossed the center line and hit me head on. Actually one of those offset frontal collisions, on the driver side. I wasn't hurt but my truck was totalled. The Chevy just had cosmetic damage to it's grille, bumper cover, lights, and lower fascia. Damn SUVs. Why the government doesn't regulate these damn things is beyond me. They may protect their occupants well, but they do so at the expense of others. If that thing had T-boned me, I wouldn't be typing this right now.

Anyways, a local dealer contacted the zone rep about the Colorado. The rep said that the order banks should be opened up sometime in June or July with delivery beginning in October.
Oh, and the ZQ8 will only be available in black, red, yellow, and white. Looks like I'm getting white.

I feel ya man. This weekend my brother got hit in the side by an Explorer and totaled his '94 Z28. Guy was paying no attention and went right through a stop sign. $10,000 worth of damage to the Z, cosmetic damage to the Explorer. Yet another reason why I hate that SUV.

even if the government does regulate SUVs in won't effect the Chevy Avalanche since it is a pickup. Bu anyways, I think the Colorado is going to be a cool truck, I'd love to have a crew cab 4x4 Z71, after I get a newer Camaro first . I bet the short cab short cab with the I5 will move pretty good, is that what you are planning to get?
