Ok, but 7.45s isn't a heck of an improvement.

Still, my sewing machine Corolla can do it in 7.1-7.5 so why does a car with so much more power take longer? is it towing like three trailers?

It probably doesn't take longer. Saab 9-3 with a turbo 2.8L doesn't take that long. 200HP 3.5L Malibu does 0-60 in the high 7's with fuel friendly gears.

GM also lists 0-60 times of low 6's for the Cobalt SS , when actually mine is more realistically mid 5's when it was stock .

My spanish isn't that good, but I do believe the car has a 6-speed auto too.

I like it better than our Malibu, and the dash layout and design is pretty nice.

Know what this tells me? That the Saturn Aura get get the revised front end for little to no cost at all.
IMO, that right there is the Aura RL. But its gunna need more then a 250hp V6 Turbo since the XR already has a 252hp V6 NA.

That car looks sweet. Why the hell is GM pushing the messed up version here when we could have that? The Malibu sold in the U.S. is hella ugly.

Similar story with the Chinese Buick. I think GM is fixated on Midwestern wonderbread-style tastes, and believes the American Car consumer to be overly conservative about styling. And they're probably right about this .. the person walking into the Chevy dealer wants a Malibu that "looks like a Malibu" and doesn't want new-fangled headlamps and a fancypants grille and the like.

Americans liked when the malibu looked like this...

If anything I think it should have some flare, like the mexican car does. Nots super flashy, but at the same time... not dull like the one we have is. Americans like bold cars too!

I agree with you, but that's pretty much ancient history. GM has been extremely conservative for "volume" cars for decades now.

Maybe a "Chevelle Coupe" based off of the 4dr Malibu with wilder styling?

(just shooting in the dark...)

It cant look like that car, because that car looks like the Saturn Aura. Last thing we need is the "rebadge" crap flying in the air, and to kill Saturn's momentum.

Yet another dumb move by GM. Design a different platform to look like another that came out a few years earlier in a different country.
