Either way, Challenger owners will get a good look at the back end of a V8 Camaro under WOT.
The V8 Camaro will come in weighing less, will have more horsepower, and will be priced less than a comparably equipped Challenger. Its just what Chevy has always been know for: bang for the buck.

i just asked the question of how much will the revised 5.7 have in the challenger on the srt boards, and hemidakota says "north of 375hp and 409tq" so thats good enough for me. i've seen you post there too, georgejetson, so you may have already seen that. looks like thats the engine i'll get in mine with the 6 speed

I like the looks of the new Challenger, but I had to turbocharge and add a 75hp shot of nitrous to get my 4200lb 96 Impala SS in the 11s. Over 2 tons? what are they thinking. I read where the Chrysler engineers and designers had a 1970 Challenger to study so the new model would be true to the original. Did any of them think of weighing it?

on the srt forums, one of the insiders that post there (very reliable source, might i add) had mentioned that the challenger will weigh less than the concept (4100lbs), but not by much. so it could very well be under the 2 ton mark, but not by a whole lot.
as for myself, i prefer the looks of the challenger over the camaro and mustang and i'm am not biased towards one brand cause i own both chrysler and gm products. (ok, maybe i am a bit anti-ford), but i'm not gonna worry about a few hundred pounds as i'm not going to be putting my car through any road racing or drag racing, well maybe drag racing sometimes. when it all boils down, i just want a fun powerful muscle car that can plant you in the seat for a needed adrenaline boost. the 318 in my Road Runner just doesnt cut it!

3930lbs for the old Hemi Challenger.
It's amazing the new one only weighs what it does. It's taller, wider and longer than the old car and it has to meet 08 crash standards. Plus they added air conditioning, a cd player, airbags, 20" wheels, bigger brakes, catalytic converters and an IRS. Yet that only makes for a 200lb difference.
