Challenger SRT8 to be $37995

http://jalopnik.com/cars/muscle-car-...995-327843.php

Now that they have released the price, the question that comes to my mind is, what is the "market adjustment" that will be added by each dealer? $2-3k, $5k +?

Looks like they used the concept for the commercial and the pics on that link?

The callenger is an awesome looking car. Hunkers down.... I kinda want one

Oh yeah baby, the Muscle Car Wars (patent pending) are totally on now and Dodge is showing it -- revealing both a new commercial for the new muscle car that declares simply "It's On!" and then by dropping a pricing of $37,995 on the limited-edition, top of the line and 6.1-liter Hemi-powered 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. The new pony car from the brand with the horns will come in three colors, black, silver or Hemi orange and they'll begin taking orders on the new Hemi hotness starting December 3rd. Now that would make a "December to Remember." We're totally declaring Monday a Jalopnik muscle car holiday. Full press release after the jump and we'll be seeing the official unveil in person in just a couple of months at the Chicago Auto Show.
This gives me great hope for a Camaro SS for 28K? How 'bout it GM?

Here's the countdown.... 69 days and some change left....

God, I wish that was the countdown for the camaro.....

At that MSRP, I expect to see more like $10k plus at first.

I wouldn't be surprised to see double the MSRP with dealer mark ups

Sucks that the stealerships can get away with that crap.

The problem is that WE let them get away with it. If people would refuse to pay over MSRP, the cars sit on the lot, price goes down.

I KNOW that would never happen though...

Wow, that's cheaper than I would have expected! But like others have said, I am expecting $10k "Marker Adjustments"

It'll only be a few months before the 09s show up in quantity - production changeover is early July, IIRC. I expect the stealership markups will subside greatly before the end of the year.

That's pretty cheap. I may be looking at an R/T in a year or two...

So for 7 grand more I get a Vette.

I'll take the Vette.

But maybe that's just because I despise retro styling.

My BMW got hit a week ago and they've given me an 08 Mustang to drive around and it hasn't grown on me in the least...

I'll take the Vette, too, but not because of a problem with the retro styling.

The Vette is just the better car.

Of course, the back seat in the Vette is a little snug...

(I still love the styling of the Mustang...)

I like muscle cars a lot more than sports cars so I'd take the Challenger over any Corvette anyday. Now over a Camaro, that's a different story. I'll have to wait and see what the production Camaro looks like and what motors it comes with.
