They were hi-res pics of a Malibu sedan with large black braws covering the front and rear of the car. I compared them with pictures I have on the computer and mags and nothing looks different from what I can see.
I first thought that it might be an extended wb sedan, but no luck. No badges on the car, and there was no shots of the rear to see any dual exhaust. The guy, well his wife, who took the pics said they were at a Hyatt hotel, and there were several of them, all under guard. They went to go in for a closer look, but were stopped and escorted from the area. There was still a chrome bar across the hood, and it pretty much looked the same.

Nice catch.
Seems the restyled Malibu (it's on for 2006) is going to be more interesting up front than the current car is. The new headlights are an "angry-look" design with 4 lenses (4 headlights or 2 DRL lights and 2 headlights). The Chevy "bar" is far thicker, and actually looks pretty good this time.

Its either that GM changed it fast because people didnt like it, or GM takes too long to redesign something. Maybe GM just wanted to keep the Malibu fresh looking? Just maybe GM is tired of people saying they are slow to update and or keep up with design.

Bob Lutz, shortly after arriving at GM, pledged that the days of GM running the same design for years was over. He indicated that most all cars would see redesigns every couple of years. I think this is him making good on his promise.

BTW: for this to be on the streets already, it would have had to have been drawn up before the new Malibu hit the streets. You can also expect the same refreshening tempo with the Camaro replacement.
