Actual Magnum R/T 1/4 mile time

I got a report from a friend that one of his buddies took his brand new Magnum R/T up to St. Thomas (Ontario, Canada) last Saturday. It was bone stock w/ 600 miles without so much as a tire air pressure adjustment, though he did say the "crap in the back" was removed. Not sure if that means his crap or spare tire & jack or what. Anyway, it ran a best of 13.8 @ 100.2 mph.

Just thought some of you guys might like to know. I see a lot of posts on here about the 300C/Magnum.

Wow, not bad for a station wagon

Wonder how they'll do after their broken in, in a few thousand miles.

Ok, sorry, but I have to go, need to order parts for my camaro so our lt1's dont get embarassed by a Friggin Station Wagon and a Friggin Chrysler Sedan.

so the Magnum runs 13.8...I wonder what a few hundred pounds less, ala 300C runs... Anyone want to bet Low to mid 13's? Add drag radials and you got low 13's...Ls1 territory

Ok, I'll bet!

A 300C is only ~100lbs less. Last I checked few = 3 or 4. . .

So, add ~1mph to the magnum's 1/4 e.t. Basically 101-102mph trap speed which is what I believe the magazines got out of them anyways.

Quick, fast, etc. . . but not LS1 territory IMO. Doesn't matter though since it's a big 4 dr car we're comparing to a 2dr sports coupe.

Haha! Real 1/4 mile track, real car with a real reliable source even though I wasn't there to witness it myself. It's really not that unbelievable.

Those times sound about right.

When I drove a Magnum R/T, my "butt dyno" told me it was faster than an LT1 f-bod....but not quite as fast as an LS1.

I wish I could get one in the People's Republik of Hawaii for less than 3000 over msrp!. I would buy one in a heartbeat. In red please. I could also get rid of my Matrix. Goodbye fwd, hello rwd. I would also have an all Mopar house. (previously all GM)

You're right: Dodge + Dodge Auto = Slow

But: Dodge + MB Auto = Fast

LOL!!!! The Ol' "buttdyno" those tend to be about as inaccurate as C&D / R&T's performance reviews!

The Magnum would'nt have had a Sunami following it, Did it?

Nope. I think I had a headwind.........both ways .

BTW, my "butt dyno" is calibrated to detect variances as small as 3 hp.
