Can we officially state that the 2007 Camaro will look like the SS concept?

Can we officially state that the 2007 Camaro will look like the SS concept but shorter and with a different grill and headlights?

If the 2007 Camaro gets released in the the fall of 2006 as a 2007 (3 years from now) than a close-to-final version would have to be ready for approval about now don't you think?

If anyone has some modified/photoshopped versions of the SS concept please post them here.

I doubt it, since a lot of people didn't like it. They want to appease Camaro and musclecar enthusiasts in general, and if they made that car, then they would be bass ackwards.

I think it will feature elements of the SS minus the akwardness.

I cant see GM creating an all-new Camaro without first throwing out some concepts and styling cues to get feedback. The concept wouldnt need to be labled as a Camaro but gives hint to what could be coming in 3 years.

I think the SS concept was strongly hinting towards the next Camaro since the next-gen Camaro should go into production in less then 3 years from now.

3 months ago a guy on this forum went to a design study hosted by GM in which he actually saw a modified version of the SS concept. - http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...y&pagenumber=1

His photoshopped version of the SS concept that represented what he saw is no longer available.

They could call it the Chevrolet Z28. Chances are that we'll have almost no direct invovlment with the next Camaro. They might read what we think on here though and other boards. Then they'll probably go and do what they want anyway again!!

The SS concept is cool... but not as a Camaro... even in a 2-door version.

I think "resemble" might be a better word than "look like" in that there will be similarities, but it won't be a smaller SS.

It's what the Gongos Survey points to. And there were certainly some Camaro-esque cues in the SS concept. Surely the car in the survey was a work in progress.

Thumbs down

It sure would be the ugliest Camaro ever produced. No thanks...

There was a lot of Camaro as well as Corvette in the SS. I know the SS wasn't the C6, but it did have a lot of vette styling cues in it. The front end of the SS looks a lot like a 4th gen camaro.

I don't think that the SS is the 5th gen. If it is just a design study, then i think it shows that next camaro won't be retro. I personally would love to see a retro camaro like the one they showed in motor trend a couple of years ago. I think that you can say that the ss shows a more of a evolution in terms of the 4th gen. The back end reminds me of a vette.

The SS isn't the C6 either as we already know. Maybe the C7
I think it was just a design concept with no production. Wasn't the car built off a C5?

No.

Corvette? Yep.

Greenhouse for a future Chevy sedan? Probally.

Interior of a future Chevrolet car? Extremly likely.

Camaro? No.

As much as I like the SS concept, the name "Camaro" does not come to mind when I look at it.
