I've always liked Buicks and their understated styling. I still chuckle thinking of the performance edition Pontiac 6000 STE with a 2.8 liter V6 while the hohum Buick Century was available with the 3.8.

My dad's been driving Buicks, except for an Olds 98 in the early 70's, since 1963, and yup, he fits the demographic, 78 years old.

If Buick retains it's understated styling, and offers a vehicle in a segment we're interested in, we'd give it a look. So far, they haven't.

I get a feeling that it could also end up combined under one nameplate the way Century & Regal is going to be replaced by the single LaCrosse model.

It's the Regal/Century lineup that was Buick's bread & butter, not LeSabre. Those cars were vital to Buick, and perhaps a reason why they were sent back to the drawing board to be redone a couple years ago.

I can't confirm it, but I think LeSabre's going to be either history, or become a lower priced RWD Park Avenue.
I just don't see Buick straying from its full size FWD value leader that generates big sales for Buick.

That link speculates that the name will change but the basic lay remains. Who knows? For where I'm located, I sure as hell hope they keep it, and FWD too.

As a side note, only when the Century and Regal were combined were their productions numbers higher than LeSabre. LeSabre is still the volume king at Buick. Sales have fallen a little due to vitually no change since 2000, but the LeSabre is Buick right now.

You really want to argue with someone who is currently selling them every day?

Here's the facts:

Next time, study up before you make false claims.
LeSabre and Park Avenue are both G bodies, but don't share exterior sheet metal.
