Chevy and San Fran roll off the tongue just like "Maro" I could say "Cama", but I'd be mistaken for an overseas person talking about a Camera.

I have never heard someone call a Camaro a "Maro" so I guess that is lucky for me because that would be annoying. I do say "The Z" sometimes in referring to my Z28 but I don't think that is out of line, plus it is kind of a nickname for my car.
I too get annoyed when any car is reffered to without "the" before it even though I know that it is the correct way to say it. It just sounds wrong.

Just my personal view......
I'm a Camaro guy. I had my little fling with Corvette long ago. It handles better than Camaro, it accelerates better and it brakes better. My problem with Corvette is that it's not a Camaro...and as I said...I'm a Camaro guy.
Personally, I'd rather have a properly executed Camaro over a Corvette. Even if Corvette outperforms it. The $20,000 savings is merely a bonus.

Weird, I wouldn't even want a Corvette. I'm a Camaro/musclecar guy and would take the Camaro over the Corvette every time. (I also like Camaro owners better in general)

I have to say that I would rather have a Corvette if I could afford it. Before I bought my 95' Z28, I found a supurb 92' Vette M6 with really low miles right in my price range. I test drove it, was going to buy it, but someone beat me to it by a day.............because of my parents! I still haven't forgiven them for that, even though it has been a good many years. Bottom line, I would have bought that Vette over my Z any day. I still really love my car and love F-bodies, but I love Corvettes just a little bit more.

I guess I'm one who would like a Corvette, but my plans for my IROC-Z will make me absolutely "forgette about the Vette". They are nice cars and I would take one if someone gave me one, but for a hell of a lot less money, I can BUILD the car I really want.
Thats the difference between true Camaro lovers and those just owning one on their way up to the Vette.

Interesting enough, its actually my mom's fault I have the 95 Z28. We popped in the Chevy dealer looking for a car for her (they had a used BMW convertible on the lot), and I ended catching a 95 Z28 out of the corner of my eye. Within a couple weeks I was driving one home. (From a different Chevy dealer though )
