which camaro models do you wanna see?

just thinking of this, since a lot of people want more engine options, and such, which models should we have?
i think we take a look back at 1st and 2nd gen and do this...
RS- trim option- compatible with z28 or SS
Z28- all out performance, enough said
SS- maybe- i dont know if it should be included or not
Type LT- luxury touring- for the driver who wants to be more "comfortable"
Base Camaro- with its mighty v6

edit: on second thought- make the RS its own model

Don't forget ZL1

ZL1 - 525HP 8.1L V8 Big Block HP3

I don't think Berlinetta or IROC should ever come back

o yea!
i say throw the ss out of the mix, and toss that in
also, i agree, berlinetta and iroc dont come back
iroc has its legacy in the 3rd gens- leave it that way
and berlinetta just sounds too weird

A solid citizen model with and without convertible top;
A road racer model; and
A drag racer model.

That's about it.

1. GOOD, desirable, well equiped base model....not a cheap version of the flagship. Every available option other than the high end V8's

2. SS. Just like it was, V8, loaded, some external differentation from the base car.

3. Z/28...limited production, an SLP Firehawk kind of car. Make it an SLP built car like the SS was b4, available w/ every street legal part that they have. Each car would be hand built at SLP, would be expensive, and I think would be fairly rare and exclusive (again, think Firehawk). The Camaro version of the Z06, rides hard, limited utility, loud, but the best bang for the buck on the planet!

A couple names I think should not come back are Type LT and Berlinetta... they just sounds dated, IMO.

I like unvc92camarors's use of RS though... it should be an appearance package available on any Camaro like it also has been... a lot of people want to use "RS" as an intermediate powertrain model designation, but that has never been what RS was...

Base v6 with 260-280 hp
LS (luxury sport) or LT doesnt really matter, i want a luxury one with a V8 as powerful as the Z28
Z28 with 380 hp V8
SS with 410 hp V8

With many options on all of them before and after ubuy the cay. like aftermarket superchargers put on at the dealer backed by the warranty, etc.

This is just off the top of my head without thinking too deeply about it, but I think it would be much improved over 4th gen models.

Base Camaro:
200 HP V6.
Spoiler option.
Ground effects option.

RS:
Supercharged V6.
Spoiler standard.
Ground effects option.
Improved Suspension. Racing stripes option.

SS: V8.
Ram Air Hood option.
Slightly different front facia/spoiler than Base and RS maybe.
Racing Stripes option.
Maybe Heads-Up display, manumatic, and other techno gadgetry.
Rear Differential Gear options for both manual and auto.

Z28:
Top Model.
Either a stand alone or option for the SS.
I'm thinking maybe hotter cam than SS and 1LE type suspension. A/C delete option.
Not available with some higher end equipment that's on the SS.

The previous post is the way to go. Base, RS, SS, Z28. And lets bring back Z28 stripes 1st Gen style. If that can't be done than add lower body outline stripes like IROC's had. ZL1 I still believe should have stayed with the 60's cars and IROC-Z should stay with the 80's cars since thats what they are and will always be associated with, and they are the 1's that'll be looked at as the real thing, orignals usually are.

i like the models just the way they are except i think the SS should actually have a real performance gain over the z28, not just an appearance package. and keep them all N/A

i agree with silversupersport- keep them all n/a

also, just to add to the mix, an updated list of what i think it should be

RS- trim option

base camaro- v6
some luxury model, be it type lt or whatever- v6 or economy v8 (305)
z28- high po v8- above 370hp
zl1- 525 hp- haha, i still like the idea of a 8.1 big block

edit: i agree with (?) cant remember who said it, but throw some stripes on some of the models
also, leave the ss out, i think the ss name is gettin tarnished by the supercharged v6 fwd cars- when i hear ss i wanna hear v8 rwd high performance n/a cars, not like the present day montes and impalas, so if thats the way ss is represented now, might as well leave the ss option out imo

I wonder if SLP can just be left out of the equation entirely? With all the complaints about their customer service and soft paint.
Just turn the GMPP guys loose on the new 'maro! Isn't that what the blue oval boys do with SVT?
Maybe someone like TBYRNE would do a better job at it?

Well....as everyone here probably knows, I'm looking for a "real" Z/28. It would be nice if GM got the rest of the line up right too.

My idea:

1) Base coupe:
V6 around 220-240hp, V8 around 300hp....there NEEDS to be a V8 in a base car this time, GM!!!!!!!!!!!!

2) RS:
Same car with gfx, better suspension, Z28 wheels and tires

3) Z28:
330hp V8 standard, 375hp V8 optional

4) IROC: YES, I SAID IROC
True to the original...its a sport/appearance package on a Z28. 18" wheels in place of the Zs 17s, hotter suspension, hood scoops, everything. IROC was made for 5 years, yet it is probably the most recognizable Camaro model STILL. People look at my Z and say "nice IROC." The car hasn't been made in 13 years and the name is still on the thoughts of many. Build it. They will come. I know I will.

You may notice my HP choices aren't that radical. I wanna be realistic...and honestly, a 375hp LS1 in a lighter, better car should be sufficient
