Cadillac backtracks? DeVille RWD by 2007
Dealer Bob Thomas of Bob Thomas Cadillac in Bend, Ore., said Cadillac also gave strong indications it will build an ultraluxury car incorporating elements of the Sixteen concept car, which is a V-16, 1,000-hp sedan that was displayed at the Detroit auto show last month.
Nothing more exciting in the world currently than Caddy
I wouldnt have it any other way!

I think the move to make the DeVille a RWD car is good but I also see the need to keep it fwd. In the absence of the Fleetwood that is Caddy's biggest model. Although the new Seville is due to be rwd and a bit more sporty yet larger than the current model. Thus would give potential buyers a choice of big Caddy's in rwd or fwd.
Also the attention that Caddy is getting is supposed to be directed to Chevy as well. But since Chevy's sales are doing fine the need goes to Caddy to regain the top spot in luxury sales.

7 years(!) without a dropoff in sales.
Chevrolet definitely deserves a greater share of the developement budget. Here's a "mainstream" nameplate that actually sells huge numbers of "luxury" priced SUVs and trucks.
The CTS moves good volume for a Caddy. I dont think they're in too much of a hurry. They could have a good rwd full sized out in 2004-05 if they wanted, but why steal thunder away from everything else? They still have to push the CTSv, SRX, and XLR and there aint much time in a 30 second spot. We get a RWD STS in what, 2005? Id say that will more than fill any gaps.

This is awesome the way Cadillac is moving forward. I cant remember EVER getting excited on seeing new Cadillacs until now. If i had the money, i would be on the waiting list for the CTSv.
And about the FWD thing, BMW and Mercedes are doing just fine spinning their rear wheels so Cadillac should keep their cars RWD. want a fwd? buy the el cheapo chevy aveo, or whatever its called.
