C7 z06 - 620/650
Pretty impressive if true. Makes me want one more now.

Here's a reveal link for Monday.

Or go to www.chevy.com/zo6reveal and it will show there or redirect you.
I think the live stream begins at 9:30 EST with a special event leading in to the 10:00 press conference

More importantly and if the Z06 is GM's track Corvette then how good will the heat exchanger be?

Re: C7 z06 - 620/650
I'm sure it will be a beast, and I'm sure it will rock on the track, but I am saddened by the idea of a supercharger (and presumably lower redline). Unless they really manage to pull a ton of weight elsewhere (more carbon fiber, remove cylinder deactivation and therefore go back to aluminum driveshaft, etc.), I don't see this thing coming in around 3132 lbs like the C6 Z06 did when it debuted. The C7, for all its awesomeness, put on a few pounds over the C6.
Maybe they'll surprise me and the LT4 (if that's what it is getting) will still be able to spin to big speeds with lightweight reciprocating parts. But if it has a blower, I'll be shocked if that is the case. Something about the number 7000 (or 7500 rpm in Boss Mustang, or 8300 rpm in M3) just impresses. The LSA and LS9 don't do that.
I was hoping for a Gen5-ized LS7 (without AFM) pushing ~550-575 hp naturally aspirated. Or even a "boss"-like version of the 6.2L with LS7-style recip assembly and even higher speeds (7500+ rpm?) with its shorter stroke.
Maybe they should have picked a name other than Z06? I guess we'll see soon enough.

Re: C7 z06 - 620/650
I think the limiting factor for the LS and LT engines are its OHV configuration and the need for balancing things like practicality, durability, longevity, efficiency and cost effectiveness as they can certainly be spun higher and for extended periods of time but it takes some pretty trick tech to do so.

Re: C7 z06 - 620/650
I said that the 7.0 Gen V was unlikely at best. Unfortunately, I look to be correct. i still excpect this car to be awesome. LS9 came in above its initial reports. I would not be shocked if the same thing happened here.
