Re: C6-R Pictures

I may have found one. Click Here

The caption reads: "Thanks to George Borders, here's a shot of the C5R replica in the background and another Corvette based racecar in the Chevy display. The car in the foreground is the IMSA GTP car from the late 80's (thanks to Chris Hewitt for the info!)" so look at the car in the background. (the one in the foreground is pretty interesting too.

It will most likely be based off the same engine, but thats about it, based off the engine. The C5R used different heads, intake, and engine block than its production based car. GM had to build 12 C5R street cars to get it homologated, all were 427's with the C5R bodywork, registered as street cars.
Actually the homologation rules for LeMans changed and x number of street versions of GTS manufatured cars were not required. Only one was ever built. AFAIK Pratt&Miller still have it in their shop.

I've seen the car a couple of times in the past.

Pix? Try this link..

Re: C6-R Pictures

Good job. That was the car that I have seen pictures of. I like the pics of the one with fixed headlights. I wonder how much power the "street" engine produced.
edit: I guess that the 366 ci engine was in the first car. The displacement increased from 6.0 liters to 7 around the time they changed hoods.
