C6 Development Issues...

This is from a guy in Powertrain Transmission at GM.

I overheard some really bad problems with our future transmission and the future Vette motor. Evidently, the development gurus are having a hard time calibrating because with anything over 30% throttle... the tires won't hook up.
Bummer eh?

Good One

Drag Radials might get them to 40%.

The solution is simple - have the C6 guys consult with Ford's 4.6 L NA group. I understand that they've avoided this problem entirely

Just tell them to retro fit a 4L60 or a 700R4 in there it will blow up before they get to 20% power.

Hey now - you're giving the 4L60 entirely too much credit

So, now that we've got ETC, how long until we start seeing powertrain calibrations that just plain don't allow WOT in lower gears? There's some history here; Suzuki has used timing retards in a much cruder attempt at performing the same task in their higher-end sportbikes for years.
