Cool Buy a brand new '69 Camaro!

Interesting story in the October Hot Rod. Apparently, starting soon, you can buy a brand new '69 Camaro......I AM NOT KIDDING. BRAND NEW

Classic Restoration Specialist will be selling complete , all metal, '69 Camaro bodies for around $12,000. Complete, brand new, turn key Camaros for about $40,000.

Hot Rod Magazine will get and build up the first '69 Camaro convertible.

On the way are, '68 Mustang fastbacks, and '70 'Cudas.

I haven't look at my Hot Rod magazine yet. I'll have to do a little reading tonight. Sounds interesting.

They've been advertising those on ebay for over a year now.

Say hello to a ton more Yenko and Z-28 clones.

I don't know....

I'm already formulating my PLAN B...in case GM screws up the 5th gen.

Maybe wait for the '67/'68 sheetmetal. Graft on the front and rear Sigma suspension modules. Drop in a killer 6.x liter, gen IV smallblock and T-56, huge Brembo brakes and a verrrry agressive wheel/tire combo. In black, please.

If I win the lotto, I'll get the '70 'Cuda too...with a Viper V10.

Reminds me of teh TT V10 70 Cuda that rolls around here in NJ. Very awesome car...sounds like a stock 318....till you get on it.

Now that would be cool if it came with some kind of modern interior, motor, and all the like. Rather than it being some kind of absolute clone...kind of cheapens it IMHO...

All you need is some clever guy to start making all metal bodied 1969 Camaros and mustangs in China for $9,999.

Re: Buy a brand new '69 Camaro!

I am going to make an assumption here -- I know *** out of u and me -- anyway it's probably like the "Eleanor" Mustang Cobra GT350/500 and Super Cobra that are being made brand new. The reason the price is sooo high is that Ford and Cobra both certify it as an original vehicle with vin numbers and all. If GM is doing this as well even if they are not making it they certify it and its like getting a 69 Camaro in perfect brand new condition with 0 yes 0 miles on it.

40k Cheaper than an SS? They were selling 2002 SS's around here for 34k.

Amen. Nice interior with modern sound system/gauges/AC/etc... packaged with the right power under the hood and killer suspension would be worth 40k

Re: Buy a brand new '69 Camaro!

IMO, this is going to hurt the value of real classic Camaros (and others when they are released)

But, to be honest, I'm surprised they haven't been out for a long time now.
