Some good reading, particularly for all those Import-haters. Seems the imports keep the UAW at bay by staying COMPETITIVE with UAW plants on wages and benefits. The UAW would lead us to believe that non-union auto workers are slave labor and that the UAW is their only savior.

More to the point, I hope the UAW is willing to give ground on the healthcare premiums issue and not strike like the grocery union did in CA 2 yrs ago. If the UAW is REALLY interested in being a team player they will compromise. If all they care about is sticking it to "the man" they will strike rather than pay $20/mo more each for health insurance.

i really hope GM turns around and "sticks it" to the unions.

wasn't it $1600 per car went directly to the union's healthcare plan? now think of that colbolt SS $1600 cheaper, it'd be in the sub-$20k category and IMHO would have no problems out selling the SRT4.
