Best performance per dollar: LSA Z/28 or base Corvette?

No I was thinking 2 separate cars. Both get special tuned racing suspension and weight reduction. But one carries an SC and the other has a NA V8. Perhaps an LSA in the FI edition and the LS7 (or its replacement) in the other.
Both would be built for speed more than the current SS car. Heck they could even do a Cobra-R with one version.

Well, since the question was using performance & price as the metrics to base the decision on, so the back seat doesn't really enter into it, my guess is this Z/28 will likely price the same as the base 'Vette. So since we're already dropping 50 large on the thing I'd just go ahead & put another 6k on it & get the Grand Sport & have something that, stock-for-stock, is just as fast in the straight line & should handily trounce the Z in the curves. Now admittedly a Z with 6k in mods should be able to meet or beat the GS' performance. But modding wasn't part of the question. BTW Grand Sports do look a little different & you don't see 1 every day.
