If you don't get a chance to do it there, just go down to your dealer. My local dealer doesn't have any GS trimmed Regals yet, but I sat in a premium regular turbo. I know going to the dealer is annoying since they can hassle you, but whatever. Hopefully once more people sit in these cars they will understand what I like so much about it

What? What part of the car feels cheap? Even the new Verano has a very well put together interior. The interior of the Regal is pure sexy and very classy. Everything fits like a glove. It looks best in ebony in my opinion. What about the car feels cheap?

I was waiting at one point for the Regal GS. Supposed to be AWD, M6, and whatever engine GM stuck in it (we know we werent getting the TTV6 from Insignia OPC) which is the car I wanted GM to build. They came close and with a price tag that is IMO too high for this car. All the features are great, but yes the power just is not there. So I went for a CTS-V. Sure it lacks some of the 08+ tech, but what it does lack is easily added and available. Then I saved $15k over what I'd pay for a GS with the ability to smoke a majority of cars on the road if I felt like it even at JUST 400hp.

Slappy just get it. Sometimes you can't explain to other people why you like a specific car so much. I think the GS is a great car, and if you have good discounts and can haggle the dealer, I say go for it.
The only thing that might hold you back is that you may be in the market for a ATS when it comes out, but considering it will be brand new it might be difficult to get one right away.

What you are experiencing is very much what hundreds of thousands of the first and biggest wave of baby boomers felt at the start of the 1970s. A desire for nicer cars with raw horsepower taking a back seat that lead to a drop in muscle car sales that started in '69 and was finally nailed shut when the lead ban in gasoline eliminated high compression engines.
Personally, I would wait to see what the final price on the ATS is going to be. Word is it's going to start at about $35K. However, that's going to be for just a 200hp non turbo 4 cylinder instead of the nice Regal you mentioned. but at least the ATS was engineered from the start to handle on the level of the BMW 3 series if not better.
If it's within a grand or two, it might be worth the wait.

Considering how much they said they studied the competition in the initial press release for that car and that car is targeting 3 series Id definitely keep that in mind.
As for the Regal even if youre set on it, unless you need a car real soon Id say its worth the ATS comparison. Obviously the FWD vs RWD will give you a different layout. One thing might be in the Regals favor might be space from interior to rear seat to trunk.
No one is trying to talk you out of the Regal. I certainly dont work for a Caddy. Im just saying what I think based on what you said you were looking for. Its your money. Go with what you like and what youre happy with. At the same time though, it sounds like there might be a bit of you trying to convince other people to take another look at the Regal for themselves rather than just asking for opinons. Not a bad car but not what Im looking for.
