“I think we have a very innovative and creative specialty-vehicle team that’s been having a ball with Aveo. They find it a great canvas to work from,” Brooks says, adding an SS performance version is a possibility.

Yey! The car I have been waiting for
(not really)
Hopefully it will be worth the money and attract a lot of buyers. However, I think that in the El Cheapo market, especially when they are trying to create a sporty image, they should probably offer more manuals than just 10%.

I wouldn't think they'd to an SS version unless this regular one really takes off. Seems like this SEMA concept is just to get attention for the car and show buyers "what they can do" with it.
But S/C 1.6L for 103hp??

103 hp is for the standard model.
Here are a couple Kalos pics which don't look too bad.

Maybe a supercharger could be worth another 20-25% more power.

it's good to see that GM has figured it out and made a car that is worthy of being called an SS
It's been awhile since i've driven by a GM dealership and wanted to stop in and look at their cars.

Whatever miniscule amount of equity there was in the SS name disappears the moment they release the Aveo SS.

Aveo SS? Oh boy... :blah:

Cobalt SS... maybe... but Aveo?
I looked at a photo of the base Aveo this morning.... THAT PEAR SHAPED LITTLE TURD DOESN'T SAY "PERFORMANCE CAR" TO ME!
I still say the name "Aveo" sounds more like a bath soap.

I don't know....I think if Chevy does this right, there could really be a market for this car.
