Automotive News announces Dodge Challenger!!!!!!
Re: Automotive News announces Dodge Challenger!!!!!!
What is the difference between this and any article that says the Camaro is/isn't coming back? It isn't officially announced yet. I can't see this articl hurrying GM up any in their decision to approve/aannounce the Camaro.
btw
it still is pretty good news

Nope, the above is the best quote recently placed on this board!
I really hope that with this news it helps the ol beancounters realize what needs to happen! Mustang, Challenger and no Camaro from GM to compete??? can't happen...

I know what you are getting at, that January 2008 could be the earliest possible time for this car. Dodge could do like GM and have the 2004 GTO land in dealerships during January 2004. Either way, its a crap shoot.

lets take a moment now and thank Ford for keeping the mustang current and desirable. If it was not for the stang there would be no new pony cars coming. This is not from a Ford-only lover.Just give the car its due if you have not been able to.

the Chevy Coupe is planned for April 2007, (start of production). with the nameplate of "Camaro" built on Sigma-mass. The GTO shares the same platform (start in July 2007) and Grand Prix (start in July 2008).

The 2005 Chrysler 300 began it's production run at the end of February 2004, while the all new 2006 Dodge Charger began it's production run about 2 months ago, in April 2005. The '64 1/2 Mustang was actually a '65, that came began production in March and came out in April '64.
It's based on the start of production runs, not when they show up at dealers. Carmakers can start production runs whenever they're ready, so if Chrysler has their plant ready for Challenger production after in 2008 after January, then the car will be a 2009.
If Chrysler gets ahead of schedule (like the SN95 Mustang was, and it begins production before January 2008, it will be a 2008 car.
