Well sure but then you're taping into the bias we have on this pro-American vehicle board. It just helps to equal out the universe.

Well no its when they go to things that are crazy like
"Well its a great car and proven itself , we still think the Camry is the winner since it has a better track record."

Hello it has to start somewhere??
Or Toyota is the green company..yet they sell the same if not worse MPG Suv's and such than GM..And the media buys it as GM is the evil oil slurping pig car makers.

The hybrids claims of huge MPG are not as they seam yet you dont hear anything about it but people on the internet are making a statement. Yet the media writes a book about how GM killed the electric car..

but I think the big thing is the bias is in the news of things going worng. Like mentioned the Toyota and Honda recent recalls. If it was GM or Ford they would have another " More problems for Ford today as recals hamper the stuggling automaker!"
Funny that not much has been said..

or how GM's electric gas hybrid is amazing and stylish yet nothing but a few words about it have been published. But the god awful tree hugging beat by the ugly stick Prius is a sales leader...

I can’t help but wonder how such an article as this ever saw the light of day?

Every publication except Autoweek. It's the only car magazine based in downtown Detroit, after all.

Now, I'm working on explaining the Z06 victory over the Porsche and Lotus in Car and Driver. Check back with me on that one...

Caps,

I'd really like to see some examples of the bias when it comes to recalls...I always tend to listen to the news when the word "recall" is mentioned and I read a lot of publications (some general business, some specifically to the auto industry, etc) and I frainkly don't see Toyota's or Honda's or GM's recallse getting treated any differently...it seems to me they all get reported pretty much the same. If there are differences, it seems to me to depend more on how serious a safety issue it is; not who the manufacturer is.
