August Sales
I'm not surprised by these numbers. I spent the latter part of July and the beginning of August shopping for cars with my mother. We visited several dealers and sometimes different dealerships selling the same makes. Vehicle selection and availability may be playing a huge role here as one thing I noticed with the GM and Chrysler dealers was lack of product. Not just certain models, but not having a large selection of various trim levels for popular models. This was not a problem at Ford, Honda, Toyota, VW or Lexus dealerships. (We also shopped Acura, Audi and Volvo.)
Example, one Chevrolet/Cadillac dealer had only one Equinox, another had none. They also only had 1-2 models of the Malibu and Impala each. At the typical Honda dealer (we shopped 3), there were several models to choose from for the Accord and CRV. Toyota was similar.
So perhaps in the end run, C4C failed GM and Chrysler because it was too soon after exiting bankruptcy and they didn't have time to get product out to the dealers.

They will report numbers on a "continuing operations" basis while reporting discontinued operations on a separate line. SEC requirement.

So how do you think the $60K Hyundai Equus will do.
