Re: audi s3
I'd have a tough time paying nearly 40 grand for an ultra entry level lux branded car that's main claim to fame is speed, yet only manages 0-60 in 5.7 seconds.
I think I'd definitely rather have the TT.

Re: audi s3
And what are the chances of this coming over to North America?
Audi debated originally whether to offer V6 Quattro version of A3, only to introduce it here some time in 2007 - about 2 years after the model was introduced originally.
Personally, all they need to offer is Quattro AWD - and that's all the A3 needs. Let people do their own modding. The 2.0T is very mod-friendly, people can buy Eibach/Bilstein suspension upgrages, etc... More effective price-wise, and better performance #s. Definitely not your 5.7 sec to 60 mph.

Re: audi s3
I have to agree.
An affordable regular old 200hp Quattro A3 would've been a big hit. I test drove an A3 (2.0T) when I was on the market for a new DD and thought it was a very fun car. I just couldn't get past the price for a decently optioned one. Now this... For $40k? Screw that... Nice, but not worth it. I'd save some $ and get a MazdaSpeed3 or a Legacy GT instead.
