Re: Attention Cadillac salespeople....

Whenever people tell me they went with the previous model year because they got a 'better deal on it', I wonder if they've considered that whoever buys their car from them is going to get a 'better deal on it' too - in other words, it's going to be worth less when you go to sell it.

Now, granted, if you drive it until the wheels fall off, or at least for quite a long time, then the difference in value will be minimal, but if you sell it 3 years from now or something, then yeah, it's going to make a noticable difference in the appraised value of the car. So if by a 'better' deal you mean 500 bucks, I probably wouldn't do it. If you mean a couple grand, then I probably would.

I'm pretty sure I could get the same deal on an '06 or '07. I usually drive my cars for a long time, so depreciation is almost a non-issue for me.

I just don't want to miss out on anything better that the '07 might (or might not ) have.

I don't see new ones, but that doesn't mean there won't be.

For the woodgrain, I think it adds a little personality to a starkish gray interior. With the wood and chrome inside, it blends pretty well.

It's pretty frustrating that you can't even find a page on Cadillac's website that shows pictures of all the wheels that are available.....

They do have a pdf somewhere on the site that you can download which gives you illustrations of the wheels...but not how they look on the car.

But I agree 100% ,it is a very frustrating website to navigate. Doesn't give very specific product info. I had to do alot of "independent study" to figure out what I wanted. The website was NOT very helpful. Nor were the salespeople, since virtually no one has ever seen (or heard of), a car with the equipment I want.

If you go to "Colors & 360's" those are the 9 spoke 18" rims.

Re: Attention Cadillac salespeople....

2007 is the lame duck year for CTS and it won't even be a complete year, so nothing new scheduled save perhaps stuff like different paint or tire treads.

Might get a better deal after the new one is shown at next years show if you're buying it for the long run.

Yeah, those are them, but they're not to scale. They almost look like 15" wheels there.

Ordered it today. It'll probably be the last six speed, 18" wheel performance pkg, CTS made in '06.

Cool. Sounds like it could be a fun car. Are you going to mod it?

What color? The special red was OMI worth the extra money ($1000?)

Are you gonna have it before I move away at the end of April to take me for a spin?

Yeah, we'll see.

Not too many mods out there. Just intake, headers and exhaust. Someone is developing a supercharger for it. No problem for the motor....since it has forged internals. But it hasn't been released yet because developement cars keep cracking diff cases though.

Modify the 2.8 turbo system for longitudinal use. Everything should bolt up.

I was actually wondering how expensive and complicated that would be.
