Attention Cadillac salespeople....

I'm on the verge of ordering a 3.6, six speed manual, 18" wheel performance package, CTS.

Here's the thing. '06 orders will only be taken for another 10 days. On May 8th, '07 production starts. There are currently no offers on the '06 that would pressure me to order NOW....so I don't mind waiting afew more weeks.

Anything different on the '07...or is it a complete carryover? I'd hate to order an '06 and find out in two weeks that the '07 will have cooler wheels or trim or something.

The dealers I've talked to have no info on the '07 (supposedly).

Charlie,

AWESOME CHOICE If I could afford a CTS, that is without question what I'd order myself. I assume the 18" wheel performance package is the same sport group that has the mild gfx and the spoiler, correct? Don't those have a monochrome grille too?

I saw a black one at the auto show a few weeks back...sweet

No that's a different one. It's so damned confusing. The one with the gfx has the 12 spoke wheels. The one I want has no gfx or spoiler and has the 9 spoke wheels. The chassis and brakes are the same on both.

So you decided to get the CTS as your daily driver instead of waiting for the Challanger??

Well, as far as the Challenger goes, it'll probably be over a year until release and then another 12 months of dealer greed after that.

Generally, the CTS fits my needs. It has 5 seatbelts, is available with a manual trans and has an excellent chassis. In fact, short of the Corvette, there is nothing in GM's inventory that compares to it in vehicle dynamics. Too bad it's interior completely sucks though. And the polished performance package wheels are abit ghetto for my tastes....but what the hell, it's a blast to drive, the 3.6 is a sweet motor....and I'm hoping the Aisin M6 trans is a nice piece, (haven't found a six speed to drive).

Also, I have over $3,200 in GM Card points which are expiring at the rate of about $50 per month, and I have more than one Caddy dealer who is willing sell me a car for invoice.

Now should I order an '06 or wait afew weeks for an '07? That's the question.

Probably black. But stealth gray and silver smoke are in the running.

Re: Attention Cadillac salespeople....

Is '07 a really short model year? arn't the new ones going to be out in 1 year?

If it is only 10 days then why not get the '07? It will have better resale.

Congrats! By chance will you be offering test drives to certain club officers?

Re: Attention Cadillac salespeople....

We're Cadillac sales consultants, it just sounds better....

Hey Charlie, while there's no "official" information released to us yet, I have my way of getting what I want in terms of select 2007 information. Add me to the winky club if you will....

For 2006, finding a 18" performance pack 3.6 with a six speed brought up only two in a 400 mile radius from me. This would include you in Chicago.

For changes on the 2007, figure mostly carry over, but some new option codes, such as the 17" wheels and the loss of a color, are different. Some other codes looked a little different, but nothing outstanding.

2007 product information should be released to us later next month.

Just order out a 2007 from your forum friend and be done with it.

Re: Attention Cadillac salespeople....

Lew, any new 18" wheels?

And I wish you could get a 3.6 without all that woodgrain all over the place.
